Last year, Yen Thanh children abroad faced many difficulties but still had income, the estimated amount of remittances sent home was about 185 million USD. Of which, the amount of remittances sent home during the Lunar New Year was about 20 million USD. However, compared to last year, the amount of USD this year decreased by more than 5 million USD, the amount of remittances sent home during the Lunar New Year also decreased compared to last year.

This year's plan, Yen Thanh set a target of 60 million VND/person/year, but only reached 59 million VND/person/year, a decrease of 1 million VND compared to the plan," said Mr. Phan Minh Khue.

Mr. Tran Dinh Canh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ma Thanh Commune said that currently, the locality has nearly 500 children working abroad. Every year, the children of the commune send back a significant amount of remittances to their hometown to develop the family and hometown economy. However, in 2022, due to the impact of many factors such as the Covid-19 pandemic and the devaluation of foreign currencies of many countries, the amount of remittances sent back by children decreased compared to the previous year.
