Mr. Phan Van Lam (Quynh Phuong ward), owner of fishing boat NA94577TS, said: “After returning from a long-distance fishing trip for Tet (Lunar New Year), seeing favorable weather and based on experience, the first fishing trip of the year usually yields a bountiful catch of valuable fish, so I decided to set sail earlier than planned. I hope this first trip will be successful.” Photo: Thanh Yen

Fishermen in Cua Lo are also busily preparing to set sail. Their boats are being repainted, the national flags are being replaced, and many fishermen are carefully performing the traditional New Year's boat blessing ceremony, hoping for smooth voyages, bountiful catches, and holds full of shrimp and fish.
