British aesthetician Julian De Silva has just announced a list of the most handsome men in international showbiz according to the golden ratio. According to the list, Regé-Jean Page is the most handsome, with his facial features approaching the golden ratio at 93.65%.
Regé-Jean Page became widely known to the world after appearing in the television series "Bridgerton" (2020). The period drama, inspired by the lives of the London aristocracy in the 19th century, featured Page as a charming and flamboyant nobleman.
Regarding cosmetic surgeon Julian De Silva, who works in London (England), he is known for his ranking of the "golden ratio" of male and female celebrities in international showbiz. This ranking shows which showbiz stars possess an appearance that is closest to the ideal perfect beauty according to the golden ratio standard.
The ranking compiled by Dr. De Silva has attracted considerable attention from the international media and public, as the concept of the "golden ratio" seems outdated. In London, England, Dr. De Silva, a well-known cosmetic surgeon, asserts that this ranking of appearances wasn't created by him and his colleagues through manual selection, but rather by a computer.
Dr. De Silva and his colleagues developed a computer program that automatically calculates the proportions of facial features of subjects whose images are entered into the software's database. Based on this, the software scores the appearance of celebrities according to the golden ratio.

The task of Dr. De Silva and his colleagues is to input portrait photos of celebrities into a database so that the software can analyze, calculate, and then score the appearance of famous stars.
Dr. De Silva believes that the facial scoring software based on the golden ratio helps him and his colleagues working in the field of aesthetics better understand people's general perceptions and conventions of aesthetics. Dr. De Silva stated that those working in aesthetics need to understand what constitutes beauty that is recognized by the majority.
Sharing his reasons for being interested in the golden ratio, Dr. De Silva said: "The facial scoring software based on the golden ratio allows us to decipher some of the mysteries in people's common perceptions of facial beauty."
There are certain kinds of beauty that everyone agrees are beautiful; people simply understand that they all find it beautiful. But we – cosmetic surgeons – need to thoroughly understand why people find it beautiful. I tried using a scoring system based on the golden ratio. Specifying the proportions of facial features to understand what constitutes ideal beauty can help us plan the most effective cosmetic procedures."
Below are the top 10 male celebrities with ideal appearances according to the golden ratio, a list recently published by cosmetic surgeon Julian De Silva:

The ancient Greeks discovered a golden ratio (Phi = 1.618) which they believed held the essence of beauty in all things. This ratio was applied in architecture, painting, and to assess human beauty.
The golden ratio is a mathematical equation created by the ancient Greeks with the belief that this ratio would bring beauty to all architectural and artistic creations, and could even be used to measure human beauty.
Many famous painters in the history of art were aware of the golden ratio and applied it in their artistic creations, for example, the renowned painter Leonardo Da Vinci often used the golden ratio to depict the human body.
Famous artists and architects of the 20th century, such as the French architect Le Corbusier and the Spanish painter Salvador Dalí, also used the golden ratio in their works.
The principle behind the golden ratio is that the closer the proportions of a face, body, or structure are to 1.618, the more perfect and ideal the beauty will be.
The golden ratio may sound mysterious, but it's actually not that complicated. For example, if the length of your face divided by its width equals 1.618, it's considered perfect, and even a ratio close to this number is ideal.
Here are some more examples, such as the length - width of the lips, the length of the bridge of the nose - width of the nostrils… Divide these numbers, and if you get 1.618, then you have perfect lips or a perfect nose.
