The General Secretary's book is a handbook on the fight against corruption.

On the morning of February 2, the Central Internal Affairs Committee coordinated with the National Political Publishing House Truth to organize the book launching ceremony "Resolutely and persistently fighting against corruption and negativity, contributing to building our Party and State increasingly clean and strong" by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

Many ideas in preventing and combating corruption and negativity were initiated by the General Secretary.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Standing member of the Secretariat Vo Van Thuong emphasized that the fight against corruption and negativity is a very important task of the Party and State. In recent times, the fight against corruption and negativity has made strong progress, achieving many very important results, contributing to the work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system, maintaining political stability, and promoting the country's socio-economic development.

The fight against corruption and negativity has truly "become an irreversible movement and trend"; it has been recognized, agreed upon, supported by cadres, party members, and the people, and highly appreciated by international friends.

The Central Steering Committee on anti-corruption and negativity, after 10 years of operation, under the direct leadership and direction of the General Secretary and Head of the Steering Committee, has had many good, creative, scientific, methodical, and solid ways of doing things.

Many ideas, viewpoints, guiding principles, principles of action, and methods of implementation in preventing and combating corruption and negativity initiated and directed by the General Secretary have been effective, affirmed through practice, and drawn many valuable lessons, valuable in both theory and practice; in which, many contents have been institutionalized into Party regulations and State laws.

“It is very necessary to collect and systematize the thoughts, guiding viewpoints, and articles of theoretical and practical value of the General Secretary on preventing and combating corruption and negativity to help Party committees, Party organizations, sectors, levels, cadres and Party members grasp and effectively implement the task of fighting and combating corruption and negativity in the coming time,” said the Standing Member of the Secretariat.

Standing member of the Secretariat Vo Van Thuong highly appreciated the Central Internal Affairs Committee for presiding over and coordinating with the National Political Publishing House Truth, the Central Propaganda Department, and the Central Theoretical Council to compile this book with a serious, responsible, meticulous, thorough, and scientific working attitude, with the participation of many agencies, organizations, experts, and scientists.

The content of the articles, ideas and guiding viewpoints in this book are drawn from rich practice, demonstrating the vision, clear-sighted intelligence, close, decisive, comprehensive and convincing leadership of the General Secretary. Thereby, contributing to clarifying the theoretical thinking of our Party on the work of preventing and combating corruption, negativity and building and rectifying the Party.

Besides, the book shows the consistency between words and actions, perseverance, and relentless struggle; the unity between the many years of preparation and the drastic actions in the fight against corruption and negativity of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to build and rectify our Party to become increasingly clean and strong.

"If you read the articles that the General Secretary wrote in 1973 and a few years later, the concerns of the General Secretary at that time and his thoughts and actions now are consistent and continuous. Many people, when they do not have a position, say one thing, and after taking the position, they may say something else, but reading the General Secretary's articles, you can see the consistency. This is something very valuable from the leader of our Party," the Standing Member of the Secretariat emphasized.

The book's content also shows the sympathy, support and encouragement of people from all walks of life, National Assembly delegates, politicians and foreign scholars for the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity in Vietnam.

“The book is a valuable document in both theory and practice, and can be considered a handbook on the fight against corruption and negativity in our country. Through this book, readers at home and abroad will better understand the policies, guidelines and determination to fight against “internal invaders”, prevent, repel and strictly handle corruption and negativity of our Party and State - a fight without gunfire but extremely fierce and arduous”, the Standing Member of the Secretariat commented.

The General Secretary was most concerned and considered about the book bearing his name.

Introducing the book, Deputy Head of the Internal Affairs Committee Nguyen Thai Hoc said that during the process of compiling the book, the Standing Member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Committee, Chief of the Central Party Office, leaders of the Central Internal Affairs Committee and scientists had many dedicated and specific comments on the ideas, content, structure and form of the book.

When the book was sent to the printing house, it continued to be reviewed, reported, and consulted with the General Secretary to edit and supplement many important contents. Notably, in many discussions with the Editorial Team, the thing that the General Secretary was most concerned and considered was the book bearing his name.

“Although almost all of the content of the book is written by the General Secretary, publishing a book under Nguyen Phu Trong's name is something he does not want. He does not want to promote his personal role, especially in the fight against corruption and negativity,” the Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission informed.

According to Mr. Hoc, after the Standing Secretariat and Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission directly reported and proposed, and the compilation of the book was chaired by the Central Internal Affairs Commission in coordination with the National Political Publishing House, Truth, the General Secretary agreed.

Based on the direction of the General Secretary and leaders, the Central Internal Affairs Committee coordinated with the National Political Publishing House Truth to receive and complete the book manuscript; reported, asked for opinions and received approval from the Standing Secretariat to publish the book in a quantity of nearly 55,000 copies, distributed to central and local agencies. In addition, the electronic version of the book will be published on the stbook.vn reading software.
