(Baonghean.vn) - After nearly 2 years of construction suspension due to lack of capital, the N5 road project (section 2) has resumed construction since the beginning of 2023. In early 2023, units urgently constructed the route from Nghi Xa to Khanh Hop (Nghi Loc).

According to the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board, the N5 road project (section 2) has a total investment of 750 billion VND, started construction 5 years ago, and completed 85% of the volume by 2020. Of which, 3.61 km (from Km0) in Nghi Long commune to Nghi Xa commune (Km3 +618) has been used and out of warranty since 2020; the remaining section of nearly 2 km, starting from the bridge over Cam River (in the photo) intersecting Duc - Thiet road in Nghi Xa commune to Nam Cam - Cua Lo road, Khanh Hop commune, due to lack of capital, the progress has been delayed since then. However, in 2022, the Management Board of the Southeast Economic Zone proposed and the project was refinanced so it should start from January 2023, ie 1 month before the Lunar New Year of Quy Mao, the construction unit mobilized a lot of machinery so the progress was fast. Mr. Le Van Hoa - Chairman of Nghi Xa Commune People's Committee confirmed: After only nearly 1 month, the section from the bridge across the Cam River in Hamlet 4, Nghi Xa Commune to Duc - Thiet Road basically completed the foundation. Along with the construction of the main items of roadbed and sidewalk, the construction units installed drainage culverts and cleared public roads to create drainage channels for production land. Photo: Nguyen Hai

Location 1 of 3 households in hamlet 4, Nghi Xa commune has not yet handed over the site to the construction unit. A representative of Nghi Xa commune People's Committee said: In the nearly 1 km of newly cleared land, 18 households are affected, of which 3 households have to relocate completely. However, because the compensation plan has not been approved and resettlement land has not been arranged, the 3 households that have to relocate their entire houses have not been able to relocate to hand over the site. In the next 2 months, if the households have their compensation plan approved and resettlement arranged, they will be relocated. If the N5 phase 2 road is constructed as planned, connecting with the coastal road and Duc - Thiet road (through Nghi Xa), traveling in the Nam Cam area will be convenient and safe.
