Thailand's House of Representatives ends final session, awaiting dissolution
On February 28, the Thai House of Representatives concluded its final session of the 2019-2023 term, paving the way for the next general election, scheduled to take place on May 7.
In his closing remarks, Speaker of the House of Representatives Chuan Leekpai affirmed that the House of Representatives has completed sessions with a huge amount of work over the past 4 years. Mr. Chuan Leekpai thanked the members of the House of Representatives for their efforts in fulfilling their assigned duties and tasks, and wished the members of the House of Representatives who plan to continue running for election to be re-elected.

According to Thai law, although the last session has ended, the Thai House of Representatives will continue to exist until March 22, when its term officially ends. During this time, the Thai Prime Minister still has full authority to declare the dissolution of the House of Representatives early to pave the way for a general election within 45-60 days.
