Yen Thanh sticks to the plan, strives for growth target in 2023
(Baonghean.vn) - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De requested Yen Thanh district to review the district's growth plan and scenario, resolutely implement assigned targets, and strive to achieve a high growth rate in 2023.
On the afternoon of March 22, under the chairmanship of Mr. Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the head of working group No. 4 of the Provincial People's Committee had a meeting with Yen Thanh district on the development of fruit trees, vegetables, tubers, fruits (using high technology), high-quality rice, cattle and poultry farming, new rural construction in the field of agriculture and rural development. Accompanying the delegation were the Office of the Provincial People's Committee, representatives of the Departments of Natural Resources and Environment, Planning and Investment, Statistics Office, and Provincial Farmers' Association.
Yen Thanh has 12/38 communes meeting advanced new rural standards.

The total cultivated area for the year is estimated at 24,672.64 hectares, the output of grain crops is estimated at 159,600 tons. The productivity and output of many crops and vegetables increased sharply; the output of exploited timber and aquatic products increased quite well... so the total value of agricultural, forestry and fishery products (GRDP) for the whole year of 2022 of the whole industry reached 4,121.3 billion VND, the GRDP growth rate reached 4.15% over the same period in 2021, exceeding the set plan.
Regarding new rural construction, in early 2023, the Provincial People's Committee recognized 7 communes as "Standard Communes".advanced new rural", increasing the number of communes meeting advanced new rural standards of the district to 12/38 communes (reaching 31.58%).

The OCOP program has been actively implemented, up to now, 27 products have been recognized at the provincial level, including 2 products achieving 4 stars and 25 products achieving 3-star OCOP. OCOP products are put on the e-commerce floor, widely promoted for trade.
Applying high technology to production, Yen Thanh has introduced varieties into production. Up to now, the area of high-quality rice is 4,884.3 hectares, accounting for 20.10%; the area of genetically modified corn resistant to pests and diseases planted is more than 350 hectares/2,400 hectares, accounting for 14.58% of the planting area... The whole district has built 21 net houses with an area of more than 30,000 m2, the greenhouses have initially come into operation, bringing high economic efficiency.

In 2023, Yen Thanh will continue to focus on restructuring the agricultural sector in the direction of shifting from agricultural production to agricultural economy, digital economy in agriculture and rural areas: Rapidly shifting to commodity agriculture,high technology applications, expand production links, encourage accumulation and concentration of land... Transform the structure of crops and livestock; increase productivity, quality and value of agricultural products, ensure sustainable development; Develop comprehensive livestock farming in both quantity and quality, pay attention to developing concentrated livestock farming and farm scale; do a good job of veterinary work to increase the proportion of livestock farming in agriculture...
Resolutely carry out assigned targets
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De said that, besides the results achieved by Yen Thanh district, there are still some limitations: Area and productivity of some crops are not high; The expansion and development of models applying scientific and technical advances in production have not achieved the set goals; converting ineffective rice-growing land to other crops with more economic efficiency and removing difficulties in processing and consuming agricultural products have not met the requirements...

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested Yen Thanh district to review the district's growth plan and scenario, resolutely implement assigned targets, and strive to achieve high growth rates in 2023. Resolutely organize and implement tasks and solutions from the beginning of the year to ensure that the set plan targets are achieved and exceeded.
Focus on implementing 02 District Projects recently approved by the Provincial People's Committee. Strengthen cooperation and production linkages along the agricultural product value chain, forming models of close linkages, equality and trust between farmers, cooperatives and enterprises.

Effectively implement policies to support rural agricultural development issued by the Provincial People's Council in Resolution No. 18/2021/NQ-HDND; to soon put policies into production, creating positive changes in agricultural production and rural development.
Continue to improve infrastructure serving agriculture and rural areas; Pay attention to irrigation work, improve capacity, proactively prevent natural disasters and respond well to climate change. Effectively and flexibly use land funds for annual and perennial crops, aquaculture areas, select suitable crops, etc.
Continue to accelerate progress and improve the quality of new rural construction in the 2021-2025 period, striving to achieve advanced new rural district status by 2025 and the "One Commune One Product" Program in the 2021-2025 period...
Regarding recommendations and proposals from Yen Thanh district, including irrigation works damaged by natural disasters, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Yen Thanh District People's Committee to synthesize and direct relevant units to establish investment policies and send them to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development for consideration and submission to the Provincial People's Committee./.
