Nghe An's GRDP growth rate in the first quarter is estimated at 7.5-8%
(Baonghean.vn) - According to preliminary estimates, the GRDP growth rate in the first quarter of Nghe An province is estimated at 7.5-8%, the estimated budget revenue is 4,467 billion VND, reaching 28.2% of the estimate, equal to 90.9% compared to the same period in 2022.
On the morning of March 23, Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the regular meeting of the Provincial People's Committee in March 2023. Also attending the meeting were representatives of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee, members of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of sectors, units and localities at 21 connecting points.

At the meeting, the Provincial People's Committee and sectors and localities focused on discussing the implementation of tasks of working groups; the implementation of the socio-economic development plan in the first quarter, key tasks and solutions in the second quarter of 2023; the implementation of the State budget collection in March 2023, tasks and solutions in the second quarter of 2023; administrative reform work in the first quarter, tasks and solutions in the second quarter of 2023.

Reports and opinions at the meeting unanimously assessed that in March and the first quarter of 2023, the Provincial People's Committee led and directed sectors and localities to resolutely carry out socio-economic development tasks according to the Resolutions of the Government and the Resolutions of the Provincial People's Council. The Provincial People's Committee issued decisions on key tasks and solutions and established 5 working groups to direct and promote sectors and fields.

According to preliminary estimates, the GRDP growth rate in the first quarter is estimated at 7.5-8% (lower than the expected scenario of 8.5-9.5%).
In the first quarter, agricultural production mainly focused on harvesting winter crops and accelerating spring crop production. The province has directed localities and units to actively implement new rural construction contents; complete the dossiers of 2 districts: Dien Chau and Do Luong to meet new rural standards and submit them to the Central Government for appraisal.

The Provincial People's Committee has assigned capital plans to sectors and localities and resolutely directed the acceleration of construction progress and disbursement of public investment capital from the first days of 2023. As of March 20, the concentrated public investment capital managed by the province has disbursed more than VND 282 billion, reaching 5.06%. The industrial production index in the first 3 months of the year is estimated to increase by 5.81% over the same period.
Revenue from accommodation and catering services in the first quarter is estimated at VND 2,657 billion, up 28.57% over the same period in 2022. Total export turnover of goods in the first 3 months is estimated at 520 million USD, import turnover is estimated at more than 274 million USD. The number of tourists is estimated at 1.9 million, equal to 181% over the same period; revenue is estimated at VND 1,460 billion, equal to 306.7% over the same period in 2022.

Budget revenue in the first quarter is estimated at VND4,467 billion, reaching 28.2% of the estimate (lower than the target of VND4,900 billion). Of which, domestic revenue is estimated at VND4,258 billion; revenue from import and export activities is estimated at VND209 billion. Foreign affairs and international cooperation continue to be strengthened. The province has granted 30 new projects with a total registered investment capital of over VND4,937 billion. The total newly granted and adjusted capital is over VND5,435 billion.
Administrative reform, improvement of the investment and business environment, digital transformation are promoted, especially Project No. 06 of the Government. The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee has issued a decision to establish a Steering Committee and a Working Group to assist the Steering Committee for administrative reform of the province. Culture and society are focused on; social security and people's lives are ensured; national defense - security, order and social safety are ensured.

It is estimated that in the first quarter, jobs were created for 17,898 people, reaching 41.62% of the plan. The program to mobilize support for building houses for poor households and households in difficult circumstances in the province was successfully organized. As of February 28, 129 units and individuals had registered to support 10,187 houses; equivalent to VND 521,434 billion.
In addition to the achieved results, the growth of the industrial sector was lower than the set scenario; some budget revenues were lower than the same period in 2022; the disbursement of public investment capital was still low; some agencies and units still had cadres, civil servants and public employees violating discipline, administrative discipline and law being prosecuted and detained.
