Le Mai Thao Thuong, a 7A student at Tam Quang Secondary School, is the only student from Tuong Duong district to receive the title “Hero of a Thousand Good Deeds” awarded by the Provincial Youth Union. This is a worthy award for a petite, agile, lively, enthusiastic, studious student who wholeheartedly helps her friends.

Le Thi Thao Thuong was born and raised in a family with parents who are teachers in Mo village, Tam Quang commune, Tuong Duong highland district. This highland student has a slim figure, white skin, a cute face, a lovely and talkative voice. Therefore, Thao Thuong is always an indispensable face in cultural activities, especially, she often takes on the role of MC in class and school programs.

This student's academic and Teamwork achievements are quite impressive. For example: Encouragement Prize in the National Natural Science Competition for the 2021-2022 school year; excellent student in the province in Mathematics for the 2020-2021 school year; Encouragement Prize at the provincial level in the VioEdu Math Arena Competition for the 2021-2022 school year; Third prize in English, Second prize in Literature, Third prize in Mathematics in the District-level Key Quality Survey Competition for the 2021-2022 school year; Second prize and Best Reading Poem Composition Prize in the Reading Culture Ambassador Competition 2022 at the district level; achieved the title of excellent student for the 2021-2022 school year and semester 1 of the 2022-2023 school year; Good Child of Uncle Ho at the district level in the 2020-2021 school year; First prize in Excellent Team Commander at the school and district levels.

Not only is Thao Thuong a good student, she is also a class monitor, a team leader who is active, enthusiastic, responsible and takes the lead in class and school activities. Thao Thuong takes advantage of recess time to carefully explain the exercises to weak students in the class. For example, when she saw in class a student named Kha Thi Linh who was quiet, unsociable, had poor academic performance and often skipped school. Thuong found out that Linh's family was in difficult circumstances, her house was far from school, her parents had just divorced, so she was depressed and wanted to drop out of school.

As the class monitor and the team leader, Thao Thuong often took the initiative to be close, comfort, and encourage her. Seeing that Linh lived far from school and had no means of transportation, every day, rain or shine, Thao Thuong went to her boarding house to pick her up to go to school, and after school, she drove her back.

In addition, Thao Thuong also organized fundraising campaigns with the Team Leader and the homeroom teacher to help Linh. The money raised was used to pay for Linh's accommodation and daily living expenses.

Seeing the love of teachers, friends, especially Thao Thuong for her, Linh gave up the idea of ​​dropping out of school and studied more diligently. With her own efforts and Thao Thuong's help, after only a short time, Linh's academic performance has improved significantly, the clearest proof is that last semester Linh achieved the title of advanced student.

Thao Thuong is also a girl with many good deeds such as picking up lost items and finding the owner to return them. She said that in September 2022, on her way home from school, she picked up a wallet. Checking the wallet, she found 10 million VND and some documents. Immediately after that, she brought all the found property to the Commune Police Station to ask the police to find the owner and return it. Through the documents in the wallet, the police identified the owner of the property and notified the person who lost it to come and claim it.

“10 million VND is a large sum of money. To have such a large sum of money, one must have worked very hard, so when I found it, I immediately took the wallet to the police to find the person who lost it,” Le Mai Thao Thuong added.

Ms. Dang Mai Huong (Thao Thuong's mother) said: "As the second child in the family, although she is young, she is quite confident. Whatever she does, she sets specific goals and is determined to achieve them. She is always self-motivated in her studies and often helps her mother with housework in her free time."

Thao Thuong is considered by teachers, friends and other classmates to have good leadership and management skills. She always completes all assigned tasks thoroughly and always stands up to handle class problems properly when the homeroom teacher is away. Thao Thuong is also a bridge to strengthen solidarity in the class. She actively reminds her friends about studying as well as participating in school and class activities.
