Three "beautiful women," Kim Anh, Sen, and Sang, colluded to impersonate traditional medicine doctors and doctors from the Da Nang Eye Hospital, performing magic tricks to transform malt seeds into high-quality medicine that could cure all diseases and enhance women's beauty, thereby defrauding numerous victims and swindling hundreds of millions of dong.

On the evening of March 23, the Cam Le District Police (Da Nang City) announced that the District Police Investigation Agency had arrested and detained a group of women who had defrauded many women at markets in Da Nang City and Quang Nam Province by selling fake medicines and beauty products, swindling hundreds of millions of VND.

Previously, around mid-March 2023, the Hoa Tho Dong Ward Police Station, Cam Le District (Da Nang City) received a crime report from Ms. LTD (residing in Hoa Tho Dong) regarding being scammed out of 9 million VND by three female "doctors" at Cam Le market under the guise of buying "Kim Suong" beauty and health remedies.

The police in Cam Le district have arrested individuals who impersonated doctors to scam women out of hundreds of millions of dong by selling them medicine and beauty products.

Based on the information received, the police continued to investigate the suspects' identities and characteristics, narrowed down the search area, and clarified their methods and tactics. Three women emerged as suspects: Nguyen Thi Kim Anh (born in 1987), residing in Hai Chau District (Da Nang City); Tran Thi Sen (born in 1990), residing in Hoa Vang District (Da Nang City); and Tran Thi Sang (born in 1987), residing in Thang Binh District (Quang Nam).

These three female suspects not only operated and sold the "Kim Suong" medicine in Cam Le district, but also expanded their advertising and sales activities to Con Market (Hai Chau district), Hoa Khanh Market (Lien Chieu district), and Hoa Cam Market (Hoa Vang district). Notably, when summoned to the police station for questioning, suspect Nguyen Thi Kim Anh consistently offered evasive answers, claiming she only "resold" the product to some female street vendors.

Kim Anh also tried to alert her two "colleagues," Sen and Sang, instructing them to delete all electronic data, messages, and contact information before evading authorities. However, faced with irrefutable evidence from the police, all three women admitted to impersonating doctors, committing fraud, and selling counterfeit medicine to steal property.

According to Kim Anh's confession, the three of them discussed and assigned roles: Kim Anh went to Con Market to buy malt seeds at 55,000 VND/kg, then prepared scales and packaging and waited in front of Cam Le Market pretending to be sellers of traditional medicine. Sen and Sang pretended to be doctors, going around and luring unsuspecting women and people at the market with false information, leading them to Kim Anh's stall to buy medicine.

Even more cunningly, if Sen finds a buyer who leads them to Kim Anh's pharmacy, Sang will pretend to be a buyer, boasting about the benefits of the medicine she has used, as well as providing false information to trick gullible people into buying medicine for treatment, beauty, or to treat under-eye bags at high prices.

The victims of this trio further stated that Kim Anh, Sen, and Sang also used the tactic of posing as doctors from Da Nang Eye Hospital, advertising and promoting "Kim Suong medicine" as having many medicinal uses, reversing aging, and turning gray hair black... As a result, in less than a month (from February 10th to the time they were caught red-handed on March 17th), this trio tricked dozens of victims, mostly women, in Da Nang City and some neighboring communes in Quang Nam province, losing a total of over 250 million VND.

The Criminal Investigation Department of Cam Le District Police requests that anyone who is a victim of a similar scam involving the purchase of counterfeit medicine and the appropriation of property, contact Cam Le District Police (298 Cach Mang Thang 8 Street, Cam Le District, Da Nang) to provide information and help the police further expand the investigation and clarify the fraudulent activities of individuals impersonating doctors.
