On April 5, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Plan No. 234/KH-UBND to implement the "Month of action for food safety" in 2023 in Nghe An province... Accordingly, the "Month of action forfood safety"2023 with the theme "Ensuring food security and safety in the new situation"; taking place from April 15 to May 15; covering the whole province.

"Food Safety Action Month" in 2023 is a peak period to launch a communication campaign on compliance with food safety laws in food production and trading activities; minimizing violations in food production and trading; proactively preventing food contamination, minimizing food poisoning, especially food poisoning cases in which many people suffer from the use of unsafe food products.
The organization of the "Food Safety Action Month" in 2023 aims to promote propaganda, education, raise awareness, identify responsibilities and actions of Party committees at all levels, Party organizations, cadres, Party members and people in ensuring food security and safety.
Promote the role and responsibility of organizations, individuals and businesses in enforcing food safety laws, promptly informing about safe, high-quality food supply chains, violating establishments and potential risks of food insecurity and safety.
At the same time, strengthen inspection, examination and supervision of food security and safety work; resolutely combat, prevent and strictly handle organizations, individuals, production and business establishments that violate regulations on food security and safety.
Promote the role of authorities at all levels, management agencies, social organizations and consumer supervision in compliance with food safety laws for individuals, food production and trading establishments, etc. Enhance the capacity to prevent and proactively handle food poisoning and food-borne diseases; minimize poisoning caused by consumption of unsafe food.
During the "Food Safety Action Month" in 2023, from the provincial level to the commune, ward and town levels, interdisciplinary inspection and examination teams will be established (with the participation of representatives of the Fatherland Front at the same level). The interdisciplinary teams will conduct inspections, examinations and strictly handle organizations and individuals that produce, trade and advertise unsafe food, food of unknown origin, counterfeit goods, smuggled goods and fake goods.
The People's Committee of Nghe An province clearly assigned the responsibility for implementing the "Month of Action for Food Safety" in 2023 to all levels, sectors, units and localities in the province. The Department of Health (the standing agency of the Provincial Food Safety Steering Committee) is responsible for presiding over and coordinating with departments, sectors and branches based on the Plan to effectively implement the Month of Action in 2023 and achieve the goals.
