Tank Brigade 215 celebrates 50th anniversary of tradition and receives First Class Fatherland Protection Medal

215th Tank Brigadeis a unit established during the fierce and difficult period in the final years of the resistance war against the US to save the country. Immediately after its establishment, the two tank battalions of the Brigade quickly went to the South to fight; participated in the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign and achieved outstanding feats.

During the war to protect the Fatherland in the southwestern border and to fulfill international duties to help Cambodia, units of the 215th Tank Brigade participated in 34 battles, contributing to protecting the territorial integrity of the Fatherland and fulfilling international duties.

In the process of building and defending the Fatherland, the 215th Tank Brigade has always been united in performing well the training and combat readiness tasks, achieving many consecutive years as an excellent training unit; participating in competitions and sports events with high achievements, notably winning the first prize for the entire group in the Sports Competition for the best tank crews of the entire armored force, contributing to achieving high achievements in participating in the Armygames International Military Sports Festival.

During 50 years of construction, fighting and growth, the 215th Tank Brigade has been honored to receive many noble awards: First-class Resistance War Medal against America for National Salvation; First and Second-class Feat of Arms Medal; Third-class Military Exploit Medal; First, Second and Third-class Fatherland Protection Medal; Emulation Flag of the Government; Central Youth Union; Emulation Flag of the Ministry of National Defense; of the General Departments and many Certificates of Merit of the Corps Command, of the Party Committee and local authorities of Nghe An province... In particular, in 2004, the Brigade was awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces in the period of renovation by the Party and State.

Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Do Dinh Khanh - Commander of the Armored Corps acknowledged and praised the efforts, efforts, and overcoming of difficulties and congratulated the outstanding achievements that generations of officers and soldiers of the 215th Tank Brigade have achieved over the past 50 years.

Major General Do Dinh Thanh also suggested: The 215th Tank Brigade needs to continue to build a clean and strong Brigade Party Committee in terms of politics, ideology, ethics, organization and cadres; build cadres and soldiers with firm political will, a solid ideological position, ready to receive and complete all tasks well, especially new and difficult tasks that have never been done before.

Focus on leading and directing the improvement of the quality of military training according to the training motto "Basic, practical, solid", emphasizing synchronous, in-depth, and modern training; focusing on building a regular, green, clean, and beautiful Brigade; strictly enforcing discipline and ensuring safety in all aspects.

Authorized by the President, Major General Do Dinh Thanh - Commander of the Armored Corps awarded the First Class Fatherland Protection Medal to Brigade 215 for its outstanding achievements in training, combat service, building the People's Army, and consolidating national defense from 2017 to 2021, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland./.
