* Official sweet potatoes are about to be exported to China

It is expected that within the next month, the first container of Vietnamese sweet potatoes will be on its way to the world's most vibrant market.

According to the Director of the Plant Protection Department, the official export of sweet potatoes to China is considered an opportunity for Vietnamese farmers to develop the industry, increase economic value and gradually shift from informal to formal exports.

In particular, in the context of a sharp decline in exports of many key products in the first months of the year, sweet potatoes can become a savior, helping the whole industry accelerate again in the second quarter.

Fruit and vegetable exports increased sharply

Preliminary statistics from the General Department of Customs show that by the end of March, fruit and vegetable exports were estimated at 935 million USD, up 10.6% over the same period in 2022. This is one of the few agricultural product groups that recorded a positive growth rate in the context of high global inflation causing many key export products to plummet.

Notably, bamboo leaf exports by the end of February increased by 302.4% compared to the same period last year. The export turnover of laurel leaves in February 2023 recorded a record increase of 5,083.3% (nearly 52 times) compared to February last year.

* Gasoline prices today (April 11): Domestic prices may increase sharply, world prices may decrease

The world oil price today (April 11) decreased slightly. Meanwhile, the domestic oil price in the adjustment period this afternoon is forecast to increase sharply.

In the domestic market, the selling prices of gasoline and oil from 3:00 p.m. today (April 11) will be applied according to the new price level.

Leaders of some key petroleum trading enterprises said that in today's management period, domestic retail gasoline prices may be adjusted to increase sharply.

It is forecasted that from 3:00 p.m. today (April 11), gasoline prices will be applied at the new level.

According to forecasts, if the management agency does not affect the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund, domestic retail gasoline prices this afternoon may be adjusted up by 600-1,000 VND/liter, and oil prices will increase by 600-800 VND/liter. In case the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance jointly spend the Stabilization Fund, petroleum prices may increase less.

Thus, if the above forecast is correct, domestic gasoline prices will increase for the second consecutive time today.

In the world market, gasoline prices today continued to decline from yesterday. The prices of the two most popular types of oil in the world yesterday reversed and decreased after a week of strong increases of more than 5 USD/barrel.
