(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of April 11, in Cua Lo town, on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2023), Group K271 organized a meeting with former education and health officials who participated in the Southern battlefield.

On November 20, 1970 in Xuan Mai (Hoa Binh), the Civil Affairs Cadres Group was established with the aim of increasing new human resources for the two sectors of Education and Health of the Southern revolution. The group consisted of 151 members, who were teachers, doctors and managers from all provinces and cities in the North.

The Civil Affairs cadres group crossed Truong Son to the Southern battlefield on January 27, 1970, so it was called Group 271. When the group set off, there were 151 people, of whom more than 70 were single. On Truong Son road, 15 people participated in the Binh Tri Thien battlefield and Zone 5. The remaining 136 people, including 94 teachers and 42 doctors, entered the Southern battlefield. Overcoming rains of bombs and bullets, with many difficulties, after more than 8 months they reached the base.

After the country's reunification, many cadres of the K271 Group became managers, teachers, medical staff, and members of local government committees. Some became journalists, poets, and scientific researchers. Wherever they were, whatever they did, they maintained their moral qualities and maintained and cultivated the revolutionary achievements that they, the K271 Group, and many comrades had sacrificed for.

The history of our country's resistance war against the US and the victory of that long and arduous resistance war had special contributions from teachers, doctors, and other cadres with special missions from the North marching to the Southern battlefield, bringing their mission to carry out the tasks assigned by the Party and the State.

They brought knowledge, wisdom, and heart of the North to the people of the South in extremely difficult and arduous war conditions. Living, contributing, and fighting in the enemy's heart, on the enemy's belt, many cadres, teachers, and doctors sacrificed their lives, many left a part of their blood and bones on the B - Southern battlefield.

53 years ago, following the sacred call of the Fatherland, young heads in lecture halls, schools, and medical facilities devoted their youth to the South to carry out the resistance mission, all for the beloved South, all for the mission of liberating the nation and unifying the country. For the greater good, teachers, doctors and nurses met each other, became soldiers, became comrades, and the love of life and death became a lifelong friendship.
