(Baonghean.vn) - In just a few days, Cua Lo Town will open a new tourist season. In addition to renovating and upgrading infrastructure, many electric car service businesses have registered and received new cars to be ready to serve tourists when they come to visit and relax.

Implement Plan No. 02 dated February 26, 2023 on managing business activities of 4-wheel electric vehicles carrying tourists in Cua Lo Town in 2023; at the same time, agree with the policy of only arranging a maximum of 300 electric vehicles to suit the conditions of facilities and traffic infrastructure in the area, as well as requirements on technical safety quality and environmental protection. Up to now, there have been about 200 householdsElectric vehicle service business in Cua Lo townhave registered to buy new electric cars. After registration, the first new electric cars have arrived in this coastal town, ready to serve the travel needs of tourists in the near future.

According to statistics, before the implementation of Option 02, there were 558 4-wheel electric vehicles in operation in Cua Lo Town. Specifically, there were 2 vehicles of Muong Thanh Hotel, 1 vehicle of Nhu Y Hotel and 555 vehicles of residents of 420 households, of which 287 households had 1 vehicle, 131 households had 2 vehicles, 2 households had 3 vehicles. To limit the number of vehicles to 300 as required, Cua Lo Town stipulated that households with 2 vehicles are only allowed to buy 1 vehicle, while households with 1 vehicle who want to continue doing business must draw lots or buy vehicles together with other households to ensure that the number of vehicles does not exceed the prescribed number.

Nghi Thuy Ward is the locality with the largest number of 4-wheel electric vehicles for tourism with 397 vehicles owned by 289 households. Mr. Hoang Minh Chinh - Vice Chairman of Nghi Thuy Ward People's Committee said: According to regulations, the ward will be allowed to buy 198 vehicles (half the previous number). Currently, more than 100 households have registered to buy new vehicles. Because they were able to buy early, some households have already brought new vehicles home and are waiting for registration procedures.

Mr. Nguyen Chinh Nam, residing in Binh Minh block, Nghi Thuy ward, said: Previously, his family had 2 electric cars, now they are only allowed to buy 1 car. After selling the 2 old cars, he saved up money to buy a new 8-seat car for 245 million VND.

According to Mr. Nam, when the town has new regulations, we must comply and registering and receiving the vehicle early is also an advantage, not only does it not have to wait but it can also be put into operation early, serving tourists when the tourist season begins.

In Nghi Thuy, there are some households that previously had only one car but now have joined together to buy a car together. For example, the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Ha, residing in Binh Minh block, and Mr. Nguyen Van Thai, residing in Dong Tien block, have registered to buy an 8-seat car together for 245 million VND. Currently, the car is on the way home and is just waiting for the day to deliver and receive the car.

According to our research, in Cua Lo Town, there are currently a number of electric vehicle businesses offering this vehicle with many models and prices for people to choose from. In particular, the main types are 6-seat and 8-seat electric vehicles. Prices range from 170 million VND to 245 million VND.

To accompany people in replacing old electric vehicles that do not meet technical safety standards with new electric vehicles, it is known that the City Party Committee and People's Committee of Cua Lo Town have also sent an open letter to banks and credit institutions located in the area with policies to support people to access preferential loans early to buy cars. Thereby, helping people have more options for loans if their personal financial conditions are still difficult.

Mr. Hoang Minh Tho - Deputy Head of Urban Management Department, People's Committee of Cua Lo Town said: Up to now, about 200 households have registered to buy new cars and more than 20 new cars have been delivered to people. In parallel with supporting people to register and inspect their cars when they arrive, on April 4 and 5, the town also invited lecturers from the Faculty of Tourism and Social Work, School of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vinh University), to train more than 400 electric car drivers on communication and behavior skills towards tourists.

In addition, the wards have also organized a Steering Committee to establish an Electric Vehicle Association. After the households have received the vehicles, each ward will mobilize households to join the association to organize activities and manage them more effectively.

"In particular, we are currently collecting opinions from businesses, moving towards setting a price for electric vehicle services to apply to the entire town. After agreeing on the price, we will publicly post it on the vehicle for tourists to know," Mr. Tho emphasized.

According to regulations, after receiving a new car, people will bring the car to the Cua Lo Town Police Station to complete the registration procedures and get a license plate. At the same time, they will conduct vehicle inspection to get a circulation permit. When all the above requirements are met, the Cua Lo Town People's Committee will issue a business license for people to put the car into use.

Regarding the registration of license plates for electric vehicles, on February 10, 2023, Cua Lo Town Police also issued a Guide to the procedures for registering 4-wheel electric vehicles to the People's Committees of wards and communes in the area. Accordingly, vehicle owners are responsible for declaring correctly and fully the contents of the registration form according to form No. 01 issued with Circular No. 58/2020/TT-BCA dated June 16, 2020 regulating the process of granting and revoking registration and license plates for road motor vehicles. At the same time, they must provide vehicle documents (vehicle origin documents; documents related to vehicle ownership transfer; registration fee documents); vehicle owner documents.

It is known that Cua Lo Town Police are currently consulting with a number of relevant agencies to be able to issue new license plates for 4-wheel electric vehicles serving tourism in the area. The issuance of license plates with white or yellow background will be decided in the next few days.
