Do Luong - clear path to...
(Baonghean.vn) - The bustling district street reluctantly bids farewell to us, igniting the love for the new town - the old hometown for those who come and go as a promise to return to Do Luong, a type IV urban area, gathering strength to become a town - the development center of the Southwest of Nghe An in the near future.

Only after going and arriving will we understand more why Do Luong is being called a "great construction site" of infrastructure with the potential to reach the status of a highlight urban area in the Southwest of Nghe An. That potential is evident in the increasingly connected traffic system, spreading the attraction of development within the region and to the vast Western region of the province.
The early summer sunshine of Luong region is so bright and fresh! Is it because everywhere we see the cool green of fields, villages, and hills? Or is it because the faces of the people we met and talked to were all filled with excitement, believing in a near future when their homeland will truly flourish, worthy of its traditions, potentials, and the efforts and sacrifices of generations that have left their mark on history through so much dedication and transmission until today?...
That must be so! But there are many more things like that! That is in the appearance of a Luong region that is being renewed every hour, every day from the Party's will - the people's heart, bringing all their internal strength together with a common will and spirit to build the homeland, not allowing potential and strengths to be forgotten. And it is evident in the traffic infrastructure system in particular, which is being clearly identified by the leaders of Do Luong district as an important condition to open a big road for the locality to go to beauty and wealth!

Please allow me not to list here the numbers, land names, and street names to prove this convincing “evidence”. Because if I had the “ambition” to research and record all the project numbers in a very short time, the amount of nearly 1,396 billion VND for developing transport infrastructure with 55 key projects in Do Luong area at this time would be difficult!
That is, it is necessary to meet with many related departments, offices, and units whose human resources are pouring into the construction site while the data seems to have to be updated every week, every day, even every hour... to keep up with the construction progress, and it is not an exaggeration to say that, to keep up with the progress of approving and implementing projects that all levels and sectors have "done" before!

Construction of Lam River road in Do Luong town. Photo: Hoang Vinh |
While working with a young cadre from the Economic - Infrastructure Department of the People's Committee of Do Luong district - Mr. Nguyen Kim Tuan "fieldwork" on the Lam River road running through the district town and Trang Son commune, bustling with workers, vehicles, and machines, suddenly remembered more than ten years ago, the night we spontaneously took a trip "up the Luong", passing through dimly lit alleys, then wading through mud on this very road to visit the temple of Thai Pho Tan Quoc Cong Nguyen Canh Hoan (1521 - 1576), famous in Vietnamese history.
The temple is currently planning to upgrade its architecture on a large scale, restoring its intangible values. The old road is being invested in expanding into a tourist route along the Lam River - a road that will play many "roles" like many other roads in the district that are being expanded and upgraded to connect provincial and national roads, inviting tourists to visit Luong land.

The Lam River on this side of the famous Do Luong Bara has also been upgraded with a solid, modern appearance; the river has low tide but is still no less dreamy green, resonating with the other side of the immense Dang Son mulberry and silkworm fields. In the midday sun spreading gold and silver over that charming scene, our car glides back between the young rice fields, through endless asphalt and concrete roads, past schools with vivid and fresh murals, large-scale and spacious cultural institutions... to reach Dong Son commune.
In Dong Son commune, there is also a bustling atmosphere of construction of the belt road embracing the center of the district, connecting with National Highways 46B, 46C and National Highways 7A, 7B, 7C (N5)... which in the near future will be considered as one of the backbones for the compressed development of a strong Do Luong towards becoming a town by the end of this decade.

The construction unit of Dao River (North Nghe An Irrigation System) is speeding up the progress to ensure water is brought from Bara Do Luong to serve production. Photo: Hoang Vinh |
Stopping on the bridge over the Dao River, which carries water from Bara Do Luong to irrigate a large area of the Bac Nghe An Irrigation System, the green acacia trees along the green canal are like the eyelids of a girl with the mission of beautifying and tolerating us to welcome the cool breeze in the green of the countryside in the early summer noon sun. Along the banks, spreading their broad canopies are two ancient trees, not alone but confident and steadfast despite storms (!?).
We had that feeling as an irresistible satire when entering the canalside road under construction connecting National Highway 15 with National Highway 7C; and also when going through the asphalt road into the "mini urban area" like a new neighborhood with a modern, orderly appearance but still very harmonious in the countryside of Hamlet 3, Dong Son Commune. The main roads, small roads, cross-lanes, and vertical alleys are all planted with trees and built with a street lighting system; in the middle of that "new neighborhood" are majestic villas, massive communal cultural houses... which are in the process of completion with synchronous progress.

Leaving Dong Son, we continued our journey on the "great construction site" that attracted the four directions of each countryside to reach the belt road in Nam Son connecting with the N5 road. Stopping the car "on this side of the field" we saw the new, wide road, despite being a messy construction site, stretching out, drawing a strong straight line in the middle of the vast green space. Then there was the road connecting National Highway 7A with National Highway 46, several lanes of traffic, just completed, the new street in the planning had not been built yet, but the trees and flower beds had already blossomed and bloomed. Everywhere there were workers busy taking care of, watering, and decorating...
It is also surprising that this return, or as a "late return" to the beloved Luong land, is a locality that is simultaneously building a new urban area in the South of the district town and an inter-agency office in Yen Son commune, which is considered the administrative center of the district; those key projects are not outside the purpose of adding highlights to welcome and connect the driving force for the day of completion of the synchronous traffic infrastructure network, ensuring the function of serving long-term socio-economic development...

We also understood that through a quick exchange with the department leaders in Do Luong. And the most impressive thing is their trust in the development direction of the district, closely following the Resolution of the Party Congress at all levels, term 2020 - 2025, to deploy action plans, operate and implement on the basis of mobilizing all determination, intelligence, and strong innovation to create breakthrough steps...
For example, in terms of planning and infrastructure development including the transportation system, it can be said that Do Luong is one of the best planned district-level localities in the country with a thorough, methodical, and strategic roadmap; even in new urban areas, it is absolutely not planned densely to divide plots of land for immediate profit, but places great importance on landscape space.

And then the short "late return" to Luong land - Do Luong, the heroic land with early sublimation of cultural and historical sediments, the people are hard-working but sharp, determined but hospitable. Following the main road National Highway 7A which is also under construction with the Ministry of Transport as the investor, through the modern and spacious Hai An market - Trade Center, the district street bids farewell to us with the charming bustle on both sides of the street, igniting the love of the new town - the old hometown for people coming and going as a promise to return to Do Luong, a type IV urban area that is gathering strength to become a town - the development center of the Southwest Nghe An in the near future.
