(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of April 14, Nghe An Provincial Tennis Federation held the 2nd Congress of Delegates, term 2023 - 2028.

Attending the congress, on behalf of the Vietnam Tennis Federation, there was comrade Doan Thanh Tung - General Secretary of the Federation. On behalf of Nghe An province, there were comrades of the Provincial Party Executive Committee: Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Vo Van Dung - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Tran Thi My Hanh - Director of the Department of Culture and Sports; and 80 delegates from agencies, units, and Tennis clubs in the province.

During the 2015 - 2022 term, the tennis movement in Nghe An province has developed rapidly, strongly and widely throughout the province, creating conditions for a large number of cadres, civil servants and all ages and all laborers to participate in tennis practice to improve physical strength and health. Currently, the whole province has nearly 100 tennis courts in 18/21 districts, cities and towns (only 3 districts Anh Son, Tuong Duong and Ky Son do not have courts), more than 50 clubs, with thousands of people participating in daily practice.

Every year, in addition to the provincial tournaments included in the plan such as the Nghe An Provincial Tennis Championship (held every April); the NTV Cup Tennis Tournament (held every August), there are also dozens of prestigious, large-scale grassroots tournaments organized by districts, cities, clubs, agencies, departments, large enterprises, social organizations, and unions such as the Dien Chau District Tennis Tournament, the Quynh Luu District Television Cup Tennis Tournament, the Vinh University Open Tennis Tournament, the Nghe An Young Entrepreneurs Tennis Tournament, etc.

Nghe An tennis has truly become a popular sport, one of the few sports that has created a mass appeal, increasingly loved and responded to by all classes of people, all ages.

Besides the achieved results, the Tennis movement in Nghe An province still has some limitations such as the number of people participating in Tennis training every year, although increasing, has not yet created a positive effect to attract more people to participate, especially students and young people... The structure and system of organizing Tennis tournaments from the grassroots to the provincial level have not met the development needs of the movement.

In addition, the work of training, coaching, and fostering a team of highly qualified coaches and referees has not received much attention. The professional quality, technical and tactical level demonstrated through the annual tournaments has improved, achieving encouraging results, but there is still a large gap compared to many units and localities in the region and nationwide...

In the 2015 - 2022 term, Nghe An Tennis Federation strives to build a strong, professional, transparent and effective Federation, operating in accordance with the nature of a social - professional sports organization; building and developing a widespread and healthy Tennis training and competition movement throughout the province; supporting the establishment of Tennis Associations and Clubs in localities and units and paying attention to the training of coaches and referees; proposing and coordinating with the Nghe An Department of Culture and Sports, Vietnam Tennis Federation to host national competitions in Nghe An province.

Regarding targets, strive to increase the number of members joining Nghe An Tennis Federation by 10% annually; organize competitions hosted by the Federation from 2-4 tournaments/year and clubs from 5-7 tournaments/year.
