According to statistics from the Vietnam Register, about 35-40% of vehicles fail their first periodic inspection; some cars even have to be inspected six times before they pass.

According to the leader of the Vietnam Register, although a series of solutions have been proposed recently, especially with timely support from inspectors from the police and defense forces, the congestion has not been resolved; the congestion will continue to occur as the demand for inspection increases in the coming time.

Notably, according to statistics, in recent times, the rate of vehicles failing periodic inspections the first time is very high (about 35-40%). Some vehicles even had to be re-inspected up to 6 times before they met the requirements.

"This is one of the leading causes of increased traffic congestion, causing unnecessary costs and time for both vehicles and vehicle owners. This creates additional pressure on inspection centers as well as other vehicles when going for inspection," said the leader of the Vietnam Register.

Faced with this situation, with the goal of saving time for registration and gradually removing congestion, the Vietnam Register has sent a document requesting support from the Vietnam Automobile Transportation Association.

Accordingly, this unit proposed that the Association coordinate to propagate to its members, transport enterprises and vehicle users to raise awareness of responsibility for vehicle maintenance and repair to maintain the technical safety of vehicles when participating in traffic.

In particular, vehicle owners need to proactively check and fix any defects or damage (if any) of the vehicle before taking it in for inspection.

The Vietnam Register also encourages people to be proactive and flexible in registering for appointments in advance through the Department's vehicle inspection appointment booking software application and direct registration forms to limit congestion and save time when bringing their vehicles for inspection.

In addition, the Department also recommends that the Association propagate to its members to absolutely not let vehicles queue up and wait right at the inspection center outside the registered time frame to avoid congestion and unnecessary hardship, as well as to avoid car brokers taking advantage of "cutting in line" to cause disorder and negative behavior.

The agency also recommends that vehicle owners should only bring vehicles that are about to expire, have expired, or have expired registration to avoid bringing the vehicle for inspection early, while the inspection deadline is still many days away.

Vehicles with registration due dates are encouraged to proactively go to any inspection center that is convenient for them to be inspected when they are on their way home, on business trips, traveling, picking up goods, or delivering goods. Vehicle owners should proactively check for fines and proactively handle them before going for registration.

At the same time, vehicle owners are not allowed to change the structure, components, or systems of the vehicle that are not in accordance with the manufacturer's design or the modified design approved by the competent authority.
