Midfielder Nguyen Quang Vinh and his efforts at Song Lam Nghe An club

At the 2023 National U19 Finals taking place in Tay Ninh, U19 Song Lam Nghe An has many outstanding faces who are currently U17 Vietnam and U20 Vietnam players. However, the name that is making a strong impression and playing an extremely important role in Coach Nguyen Van Vinh's playing style is midfielder Nguyen Quang Vinh.

In the first match, U19 Song Lam Nghe An did not really have the best performance, but in the 1-1 draw against U19 Thanh Hoa, Quang Vinh with his maturity and mobility won the title of Best Player voted by the organizers and reporters.

Recently, in the 2-1 victory over U19 Becamex Binh Duong, Quang Vinh was the player who made the decisive pass to Truong Van Tuyen to open the score. And it was also this midfielder wearing the number 9 shirt who made a tricky shot outside the penalty area, raising the score to 2-1 for U19 Song Lam Nghe An. At the same time, Quang Vinh received the title of Best Player of the Match for 2 consecutive matches.

Few people know that Quang Vinh had previously played quite prominently for the youth teams of Song Lam Nghe An and his older brother also trained at Song Lam Nghe An. Born in 2005 in Nghi Lam commune in a family with a passion for sports, Quang Vinh was discovered by Coach Le Trung Hieu - the base coach of Song Lam Nghe An at the Phu Dong Sports Festival Football Tournament of the province. Quang Vinh was also the main factor in Nghi Loc Children's achievement of winning the Bronze Medal at the Youth - Children's Football Tournament of Nghe An Newspaper Cup in 2016.

Remembering his former student, Coach Le Trung Hieu said: "At first when I met Vinh, I saw that he had special qualities such as the ability to play football well and skillfully with both feet, a tall and well-proportioned body, courage, tenacity in competition and being the soul of the team when entering the match."

Having just joined Song Lam Nghe An, Quang Vinh soon received special care from Coach Nguyen Huy Hoang - current Head Coach of Song Lam Nghe An and later Coach Nguyen Van Vinh. One of the memorable milestones of this player is the 2018 National U13 Championship when he was the captain, defeating the host PVF in a tense "water battle".

In 2019, after successfully defending the championship at the 2019 National U15 Finals under the guidance of Coach Phan Nhu Thuat, Nguyen Quang Vinh was named among the 9 players selected to join the Vietnam National Team to participate in the 2019 Southeast Asian Football Championship.

Until 2020 in U15 jerseyLam River Nghe An, Quang Vinh continues to be the player trusted by Coach Van Vinh to be given the captain's armband. Unfortunately, in that tournament, U15 Song Lam Nghe An was unlucky to stop at the Semi-finals after losing to U15 PVF in the 11m penalty shootout. Thanks to impressive performances in those tournaments, in March 2022, Quang Vinh was on the list of U17 Vietnam to go to Germany for training with teammates at Song Lam Nghe An such as Cao Van Binh, Le Dinh Long Vu, Le Nguyen Hoang.

With the qualities of a leader in midfield, playing energetically and controlling the midfield, Quang Vinh seemed to be born to wear the captain's armband. In 2022, the captain of U17 Song Lam Nghe An and his teammates played well and advanced deep into the 2022 National U17 Finals. However, in the Semi-final match against U17 PVF, Quang Vinh's absence due to receiving enough penalty cards forced the home team to enter the penalty shootout and regrettably received a bronze medal.

In early 2023, in the list of the U20 Vietnam team for the first training session of 2023, Nguyen Quang Vinh was present along with Cao Van Binh and Le Nguyen Hoang but was not retained to participate in the U20 Asia final round because he could not compete with the outstanding seniors who had played in the V.League such as Khuat Van Khang or Dinh Xuan Tien.

In 2023, at the age of 18, Quang Vinh was a mainstay of U19 Song Lam Nghe An and scored extremely important and beautiful goals in the Qualifying Round, bringing U19 Song Lam Nghe An into the Final Round. Still very young, Quang Vinh is 1m74 tall and has an extremely strong foundation, a passionate and creative playing style. However, with what he has shown and his slow but steady progress, Quang Vinh will be a promising and notable name in the future of Nghe An youth football.
