Nghe An: Highlights of May 5th
(Baonghean.vn) - The Nghe An Provincial People's Council approved the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030 and completed its 13th session with 9 resolutions passed; the National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology and Environment worked with Nghe An province; and a scam involving booking parties appeared in Cua Lo... These are some of the highlights of May 5th.
*On the afternoon of May 5th in Vinh City, the 13th session of the 18th term of the Nghe An Provincial People's Council was held.Resolution approving the Nghe An Provincial PlanningPeriod 2021-2030, vision to 2050.
The plan sets a development goal for 2030 to build Nghe An into a relatively prosperous province in the country, with rapid and sustainable economic development, deeply rooted in the cultural identity of Nghe An; a center of the North Central region for trade, healthcare, education and training, science and technology, industry and high-tech applied agriculture.
In terms of specific targets, in the economic field, Nghe An aims for an average annual growth rate of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of approximately 10.5-11% during the period 2021-2030. The GRDP structure is projected as follows: Industry and construction accounting for 42-42.5%; services accounting for 39-39.5%; agriculture, forestry, and fisheries accounting for 13.5-14%; and product taxes less product subsidies accounting for 4.5-5%.
The per capita GRDP is projected to reach approximately US$7,500-8,000 by 2030. The manufacturing sector will account for over 24% of the province's GRDP. Labor productivity is expected to increase by an average of 10-11% per year. State budget revenue in the province is projected to increase by an average of approximately 12% per year. Total social investment capital mobilized during the period 2021-2030 is expected to reach approximately VND 1,650 trillion.
The Nghe An Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, identifies key tasks to create breakthroughs in development, including: Developing two growth engine areas, namely the expanded Vinh City and the expanded Southeast Nghe An Economic Zone.
Also at the 13th session, the provincial People's Council delegates voted to approve the Resolution on the proposal to recognize Do Luong town, Do Luong district, Nghe An province as meeting the criteria of a type IV urban area. The provincial People's Council assigned the Provincial People's Committee to complete the dossier and procedures to submit to the competent authorities for recognition of Do Luong town, Do Luong district, Nghe An province as meeting the criteria of a type IV urban area according to current regulations.

*On the afternoon of the same day, the 13th session - a specialized session of the Nghe An Provincial People's Council, 18th term, 2021-2026 - completed all the planned contents and programs and proceeded to close.The Provincial People's Council has passed nine resolutions.
In his closing remarks at the session, on behalf of the Provincial People's Council, Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation, and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - requested the Provincial People's Committee, all levels, sectors, localities, and units, according to their assigned functions, tasks, and powers, to focus on urgently, decisively, and synchronously implementing solutions to ensure that the resolutions just passed are quickly put into practice and achieve high effectiveness. He specifically noted that regarding the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, the Provincial People's Committee needs to urgently complete the procedures and documents according to regulations to submit it to the Prime Minister for approval in May 2023.
