A group of young people pooled money to buy drugs in a karaoke room to get high.
(Baonghean.vn) - Five young men pooled money and asked two karaoke bar employees in Quynh Luu district to buy and organize illegal use of drugs.
On May 10, at the Quynh Hau Commune Cultural House, the Quynh Luu District People's Court held a public mobile trial of the case "Illegal trading of narcotics anddrug use organization”.
Seven defendants were brought to trial in the case of “Illegal drug trafficking and organizing illegal drug use” including Lo Thi Nguyet Nhu residing in Tuong Duong district (Nghe An), Luong Vien Duong residing in Thanh Chuong district (Nghe An) and five subjects Le Dai Nghia, Nguyen Thanh Luan, Nguyen Van Duc, Nguyen Tien Anh, Nguyen The Anh all residing in Quynh Hau commune, Quynh Luu district (Nghe An). Of which, defendants Nhu and Duong are karaoke bar staff in Quynh Luu district.

According to the case file, at 8:00 p.m. on January 11, 2023, the Quynh Luu District Police Working Group discovered and caught the above 7 subjects in the act of organizing illegal drug use in a singing room at Pho Nui Karaoke Bar (in Quynh Hoa Commune, Quynh Luu District, Nghe An Province).
During the investigation by the police agency to clarify the drugs for the subjects to use, 5 young men residing in Quynh Hau commune contributed money and transferred 5 million VND to Lo Thi Nguyet Nhu's account to buy 6 drug pills and 2 packages of drugs from a man named Them (unknown permanent address).
At the trial, the defendants confessed to all their crimes. The People's Court of Quynh Luu district sentenced defendant Lo Thi Nguyet Nhu to 9 years in prison for two crimes of "Illegal trading and organizing illegal use of narcotics". For the crime of "Organizing illegal use of narcotics", defendants Le Dai Nghia and Nguyen Thanh Luan were each sentenced to 8 years and 6 months in prison; defendants Nguyen Van Duc, Nguyen The Anh, Nguyen Tien Anh were each sentenced to 7 years and 6 months in prison; and defendant Luong Vien Duong was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison for "Organizing illegal use of narcotics" (at the time of arrest, Duong was not yet 18 years old).
