Football betting ring generating 50 billion VND per month busted.
The police in Ha Nam province determined that from the beginning of 2023 until the time of their arrest, the suspects had participated in football betting with a total amount of 50 billion VND per month.
On May 14th, the Ha Nam Provincial Police announced that they have initiated criminal proceedings and indicted six individuals: Do Manh Chuc (born in 1983, residing in Dai Xuyen, Phu Xuyen, Hanoi); Ngo Van Hiep, Nguyen Van Diep, Vu An, Nguyen Van Tuan (all residing in Chau Can, Phu Xuyen, Hanoi); and Nguyen Van Binh (residing in Bach Thuong, Duy Tien, Ha Nam) for the crimes of "organizing gambling" and "gambling" in the form of football betting amounting to up to 50 billion VND per month.

At the police station, Do Manh Chuc confessed to being the ringleader of an "organized gambling" and "gambling" operation.
Accordingly, Chuc used a mobile phone and personal computer to access the online football betting website “agbong88.com” with the login account “1188882” to bet on sports and play lottery/number games. Afterward, Chuc divided the accounts and betting sites into smaller parts and provided the login passwords to other participants to join the betting and lottery/number games.
The payment method agreed upon by Chuc involved settling bets and settling winnings and losses on Mondays of each week, either in cash or via bank transfer.
Based on the collected investigative documents, the Police Investigation Agency determined that from the beginning of 2023 until the time of arrest, the suspects had participated in football betting with a total amount of 50 billion VND per month.
The Ha Nam Provincial Police are continuing their investigation to prosecute the above-mentioned individuals and other related individuals for brokering prostitution and usury in civil transactions.
