Holding a memorial service for Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of May 16, in Phon Xa Van town, Xieng Khouang province (Laos), the Special Working Group of Xieng Khouang province coordinated with the Collection Team of the Nghe An Provincial Military Command to hold a memorial service for Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos.
Attending the ceremony, on behalf of the Lao Government's Special Working Group, there was Major General Sitha Duongma-la - Director of the Department of Personnel, Deputy Head of the Lao Government's Special Working Group.
Also attending were comrades: Bun - Chan Si - Phong Van - Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Secretary, Governor of Xieng Khouang Province; Si-vi-lay Seng-cha-lon - Provincial Party Committee Member, Deputy Governor, Head of the Special Working Committee of Xieng Khouang Province; Phu-vong Bun-su - Provincial Party Committee Member, Deputy Governor, Head of the Special Working Committee of Vientiane Province; Lieutenant General Vong-son In-pan-phim - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Special Working Committee of Xay Som Bun Province; Major General Khan-thong Vong-am-kha - Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command, Deputy Head of the Special Working Committee of Xieng Khouang Province.
On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Special Working Committee; Colonel Phan Dai Nghia - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command; leaders of the Department of Planning and Investment, Office of the Provincial People's Committee, Department of Health, Department of Foreign Affairs, Border Guard Command, Ky Son District Party Committee. Also attending the ceremony was comrade Kieu Thi Hang Phuc - Consul General of Vietnam in Luong Pha Bang province.

In the dry season of 2022 - 2023, with the effective, righteous and wholehearted support of Party committees at all levels, authorities, armed forces and people of the three provinces of Xieng Khouang, Vientiane and Xay Som Bun, officers and soldiers of the Collection Team, Nghe An Provincial Military Command overcame many difficulties and hardships to search for and exhume the remains of 96 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in the three provinces of Xieng Khouang, Vientiane and Xay Som Bun (Laos).

Today (May 16), the Provincial Party Committee, government, departments, branches, organizations, armed forces, monks, nuns, Buddhists, people of Lao ethnic groups and a large number of overseas Vietnamese living in Xieng Khouang province solemnly held a requiem ceremony to send the remains of martyrs of the Vietnamese volunteer army and experts back to their motherland.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Si-vi-lay Seng-cha-lon - Provincial Party Committee member, Deputy Governor of Xieng Khouang province, on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, government and people of Lao ethnic groups in the three provinces of Xieng Khouang, Vientiane and Xay Som Bun, expressed deep gratitude to the Party, State, army and people of Vietnam in general; the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee and people of Nghe An province in particular, for always wholeheartedly supporting the Lao revolutionary cause, as well as the three provinces of Xieng Khouang, Vientiane and Xay Som Bun.

In particular, he expressed his deep gratitude to the martyrs of the volunteer army and Vietnamese experts who devoted their lives to the Lao revolutionary cause and the common revolution of both Laos and Vietnam.
Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Special Working Committee of Nghe An province emphasized that in the sacred moment, the delegation of the Special Working Committee of Nghe An province and officers and soldiers of the Quy Tap Team, on behalf of the Party Committee, government, armed forces and people of Nghe An province, attended the Requiem Ceremony and received the remains of martyrs back to their homeland, motherland after many years of falling, resting in brotherly Laos in the area of 3 provinces: Xieng Khouang, Vientiane and Xay Som Bun.

The Party, State, people and armies of Vietnam and Laos will forever remember the martyrs who devoted their lives to the revolutionary cause of the two nations, for the peace and happiness of the people. The heroic sacrifices of comrades will live forever with the country and will always be a shining example for future generations to learn from.
From tomorrow (May 17), you will leave the beautiful country of Champa - your second homeland during your time living, fighting and heroically sacrificing, and return to your motherland Vietnam.
The country, people, family, friends and neighbors are waiting with open arms to welcome you after many years of separation. Your relatives and the working group feel warmer when they light incense on your graves.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, the Special Working Group of Nghe An province, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long expressed his sincere thanks and deep gratitude to the Party, the State, the Special Working Group, the armed forces and the people of all Lao ethnic groups in general, and the three provinces of Xieng Khouang, Vientiane and Xay Som Bun in particular, for creating favorable conditions and wholeheartedly and effectively assisting the Collection Team in searching, collecting and retrieving the remains of martyrs and today solemnly organizing the Requiem Ceremony for the souls of the martyrs of volunteer soldiers and Vietnamese experts according to the customs and practices of the brotherly country of Laos.

As planned, on the morning of May 17, the Collection Team of the Provincial Military Command will move and protect the remains of martyrs from Xieng Khouang province back to the country and hand them over to the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, collect biological samples and organize a burial ceremony at Nghi Loc District Martyrs Cemetery on the morning of May 19.
On this occasion, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee met, visited, encouraged and presented gifts to officers and soldiers of the Gathering Team of the Provincial Military Command.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged, commended and highly appreciated the efforts, endeavors and results that the Recovering Team has made in the past time; carrying out the sacred and noble mission of searching, locating and bringing Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who sacrificed their lives in Laos back to the Fatherland and their families. At the same time, the provincial leaders hoped that in the coming time, the Team would promote the achieved results, overcome difficulties and strive to excellently complete the sacred and noble mission assigned.
