(Baonghean.vn) - In round 9 of V.League, after reviewing the video and receiving a report on the incident, the Referee Board decided to suspend linesman Nguyen Thanh Son. This referee's wrong decision caused Song Lam Nghe An to have their goal disallowed, affecting the final result.
On the afternoon of May 27, Head of the VFF Referee Board Dang Thanh Ha announced, "The Referee Board has received a report on the incident in the match between Hanoi Police and Song Lam Nghe An. Obviously, the linesman made a wrong offside call, affecting the match."
Mr. Ha affirmed that the linesman Nguyen Thanh Son who made the mistake will not be assigned to officiate in the next round.

"If a referee makes a professional mistake, we will not impose a specific penalty or disciplinary action, but will only suspend him from duty for the next few matches. Certainly, the referee who makes a mistake will not be assigned to the next few matches so that he has time to stabilize his spirit and gain experience," said Mr. Dang Thanh Ha.
Previously, in round 9 of V.League 2023, taking place at Hang Day Stadium between host Hanoi Police andLam River Nghe An. At the end of the first half, when the score was 1-0 in favor of Song Lam Nghe An, the away team organized a counter-attack in the middle, Dinh Xuan Tien made a pass to Soladio, the Belgian striker rushed down bravely, shot diagonally into the net of Hanoi Police. However, the linesman raised his flag, because he thought Soladio was offside.
Reviewing the slow-motion situation, it can be clearly seen that when Dinh Xuan Tien passed to Soladio, this striker was not yet standing under the opponent's defense line and with the observation position that linesman Nguyen Thanh Son chose, it is completely possible to determine whether the striker of Song Lam Nghe An was offside or not. However, very quickly, this referee raised his flag, so the main referee did not recognize a valid goal for Song Lam Nghe An. Then, in the second half, Hanoi Police rose up strongly and had a comeback to win with a score of 2-1.
