On the morning of May 27, in Vinh city, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee organized a Forum to connect the consumption of regional agricultural products.

Attending the forum were comrades: Pham Van Duy - Deputy Director of the Department of Quality, Processing and Market Development, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; Le Viet Nga - Deputy Director of the Department of Domestic Market, Ministry of Industry and Trade; Nguyen Duc Quang - Vice President of the Vietnam General Association of Agriculture and Rural Development, representatives of central ministries and branches, and more than 200 guests representing the Agriculture and Rural Development sector of some provinces and cities and enterprises, trading floors, corporations, and trading systems of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in Vietnam.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrade Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of departments, branches, localities, production households, cooperatives and enterprises in the area.

Nghe An's potential for agricultural production and processing

Nghe An is a province with great potential and advantages in agricultural development. In recent years, despite facing many difficulties and challenges, Nghe An's agricultural production has basically remained stable, with some key products growing quite well. The overall results achieved are as follows: The total value of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in 2022 for the whole industry is estimated at 20,380,333 billion VND, the GRDP growth rate is estimated at 4.78%, the highest in the North Central region.

The economic structure within the sector continues to shift in a positive direction, by the end of 2022: Agriculture 77.52%, forestry 6.18%, fishery: 16.30%. The proportion of livestock in agriculture is estimated at 47.94%.

Nghe An has great potential for producing and processing agricultural, forestry and fishery products, developing OCOP products, providing quality products to the domestic market and for export. Up to now, the entire agricultural, forestry and fishery processing industry has a total of 14,829 establishments of different sizes, creating jobs for an average of 30,000 - 50,000 regular workers.

In particular, the "One Commune One Product" (OCOP) Program in Nghe An has developed strongly, with 21/21 districts, cities and towns in the province participating in the development of OCOP products. By the end of 2022, the whole province will have 403 products recognized as achieving OCOP 3 stars or higher.

Besides paying attention to product quality and ensuring food safety, localities and entities focus on building packaging, labels, product traceability stamps, and building product brands to meet market requirements.

Promoting connection and consumption of Nghe An agricultural products

Speaking at the forum, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De emphasized: Organizing the Forum to connect the consumption of regional agricultural products with the purpose of introducing key agricultural products and specialties of Nghe An and other provinces to enterprises, corporations distributing and consuming agricultural products nationwide; building a chain of production, business and consumption of agricultural products between production units and the agricultural, forestry and fishery consumption system.

Thereby, exchanging and seeking support from central levels and sectors and coordination from localities in promoting the consumption of agricultural products and specialties of Nghe An province; Seeking opportunities to sign and connect the consumption of Nghe An agricultural products with distribution, business and trade corporations between regions; Providing information, encouraging production expansion, attracting investment, applying scientific and technical advances to agricultural production in Nghe An province.

At the forum, the Vietnam General Association of Agriculture and Rural Development introduced production programs, production technology and consumption of OCOP products; WinCommerce Company introduced the program to connect and accompany Nghe An people in production according to quality chains; introduced the program to link consumption of agricultural products in Nghe An province and implemented the program to consume agricultural products through online channels...; Binh Duong Wood Association introduced the program to coordinate, connect production, processing and consumption of forest products in Nghe An province.

On this occasion, delegates witnessed the Signing Ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Nghe An and WinCommerce General Trading and Service Joint Stock Company on cooperation in promoting the development of agricultural product value chains and improving the quality management of agricultural products of Nghe An province consumed on WinCommerce's retail system;

On the sidelines of the forum, there were 30 booths displaying and introducing agricultural products from Nghe An province and other provinces and cities in the country.
