Initial results
Previously, when coming to Kim Son town, it was easy to see that the situation of households encroaching on sidewalks and roadsides for business and trading; installing canopies and advertising signs outside the prescribed area on the roads has been resolved, creating a clear sense of openness.
Right next to the district cultural parkQue Phong, the situation of setting up temporary tents to sell food with all kinds of goods along both sides of the road, causing disorder, traffic safety, environmental sanitation, and urban beauty has ended. Mr. Nguyen Phung Hai - a seafood business household at the temporary market before said: After being informed about ensuring traffic safety corridor, his family removed the roof, moved the signboard and rented a booth in Nam Son block to do business stably.

In addition to the spontaneous market, right on National Highway 16, the main road of Kim Son town, previously the situation of encroachment on the traffic safety corridor for business by shops, kiosks... made the town's appearance shabby, directly affecting traffic, causing traffic insecurity. Now, shops and signs are completely set back inside, and the sidewalks are clear.
Mr. Hoang Trung Cuong - Chairman of Kim Son Town People's Committee said: The town has assigned cadres to closely monitor the area to promptly handle re-encroachment points, thereby resolving them thoroughly from the beginning. In particular, focusing on locations that frequently violate traffic safety corridors, encroachment, re-encroachment of traffic safety corridors, such as along National Highway 16 through the town, Provincial Road 544B, main inner-city roads such as the Kim Son market intersection, the district cultural park area going to Muong Noc commune, the area from Co Nong block going to the Thanh Phong 2 village turnoff, Muong Noc commune...
Or in Tien Phong commune, recently, people passing through the Phu Phuong intersection were surprised when the situation of people selling goods on the roadside was cleared.
According to Mr. Vo Khanh Toan - Chairman of Tien Phong Commune People's Committee: In the clearance work, the commune determines which points are the most problematic and then carries out the clearance work first, from propaganda and mobilization to mobilization. Therefore, up to now, the commune has basically cleared the traffic safety corridor on National Highway 48 and National Highway 16 passing through the area, focusing on the intersections of Phu Phuong and Na Chang...

In addition, also in Tien Phong commune, the local authorities coordinated with the local authorities to clear the area from Km107+240 to Km107+580 of National Highway 48, Truong Banh intersection and Dan village. This is the gateway to Que Phong district, with a large number of people and vehicles passing through every day. Here, high mounds of land have been covered with tarps, billboards, and trees that obscure visibility have been removed to ensure clear roads, open sidewalks, and visibility for drivers.
Continue clearance and prevent re-encroachment
According to the synthesis data, in 2022, the People's Committee of Que Phong district directed 13/13 communes and towns to simultaneously carry out 3 campaigns to clear and prevent re-encroachment of traffic safety corridors.
As a result, people were mobilized to voluntarily dismantle 8 temporary houses and kiosks selling various types of goods (206m2); dismantle 6 canopies of various types (258m2); handle 1 spontaneous market, 2 car wash locations; remind and request to clean up 52 umbrellas and mobile billboards from the traffic safety corridor; clear 697m of temporary fences made of bamboo, rattan, and barbed wire of all kinds; handle and relocate 74m of construction material gathering locations3; cut down 279 trees located at curved, bendy, and out-of-sight locations; handled and relocated many sales points within the traffic safety corridor and many other violations.
Particularly from the beginning of 2023 up to now, the whole district has launched 2 campaigns to clear traffic safety corridors simultaneously across the district (on the occasion of Lunar New Year and the April 30 - May 1 holiday); mobilized and cleared 31m2kiosk, 416m2Canopies of all kinds, 21 billboards, 174m of various fences, 4 construction material gathering points, 2 car washes and many other violations.
To achieve the above results, according to Mr. Bui Van Hien - Vice Chairman of Que Phong District People's Committee, the district has issued Plan No. 24/KH-UBND dated January 24, 2022 on clearing traffic safety corridors and preventing re-encroachment of road traffic safety corridors in the district, period 2022-2025 and Decision No. 53/QD-UBND dated February 14, 2022 on establishing the Steering Committee and Working Group for the Steering Committee on clearing road traffic safety corridors in Que Phong district, period 2022-2025. Accordingly, 13/13 communes and towns have also established Steering Committees and Working Groups and assigned tasks to carry out the work of clearing traffic safety corridors and preventing re-encroachment of road traffic safety corridors in the communes and towns.

On that basis, first of all, promote mobile propaganda work in the area before and during the peak campaigns, along with actively propagating through social networks such as Facebook, Zalo... In addition to organizing the clearance of traffic safety corridors, localities also deploy for households to sign a commitment not to violate or re-encroach on traffic safety corridors. Before and during the peak campaigns of clearance, the District People's Committee directed members of the Steering Committee and inspection teams to directly go to the assigned bases to guide and urge localities. Since then, many problems have been discovered and recommendations have been made to communes and towns for timely handling...
Regarding the plan in the coming time, according to Mr. Bui Van Hien, the district will continue to focus on directing the strengthening of clearing violations and preventing re-encroachment associated with the roles and personal responsibilities of heads of units, localities, and persons in charge. Focus on handling and correcting violations of traffic safety corridors for construction activities in the district such as civil works, electricity works, telecommunications works...
