Huy Hoang resigns as head coach of SLNA
(Baonghean.vn) - After a series of poor performances, Coach Huy Hoang has resigned. Phan Nhu Thuat has been temporarily appointed as head coach of Song Lam Nghe An.
On the morning of June 3, Song Lam Nghe An Club held a closed meeting with key members of the club and the Song Lam Nghe An first team. At the meeting, after listening to Mr. Huy Hoang's request to withdraw from the position of head coach due to health reasons, the Club's Board of Directors approved.
Accordingly, the person chosen to replace Coach Nguyen Huy Hoang to take on the job of leading Song Lam Nghe An from the 11th round of V.League 2023 will be Coach Phan Nhu Thuat.

Coach Huy Hoang was appointed as head coach of Song Lam Nghe An from the beginning of the 2022 season. For the first time as head coach of a club competing in the V.League, coach Huy Hoang brought Song Lam Nghe An to a 5th place finish in the 2022 National Football Championship rankings. However, this achievement did not meet the expectations and inherent strength of the club.

The 2023 season witnessed Song Lam Nghe An's decline in the V.League rankings. This team went through a series of 10 matches with only 1 win, 6 draws and 3 losses, temporarily ranking 11th on the V.League 2023 rankings. Notably, in round 10, Song Lam Nghe An suffered a crushing defeat at Hang Day Stadium against Viettel Club with a score of 0-3.
With such poor performance, Song Lam Nghe An was forced to change head coach to bring new spirit and better playing style, thereby pulling the Vinh home team out of the red light group.
After receiving the new assignment, Coach Phan Nhu Thuat shared: “In the past time, Coach Nguyen Huy Hoang and the Song Lam Nghe An coaching staff have made every effort. I would like to thank the Board of Directors for their trust and assignment. My colleagues and I will do our best to complete the task.”
Coach Phan Nhu Thuat has proposed assistants including: Coach Pham Van Quyen, Coach Pham Duc Anh and 2 coaches Dinh Van Dung and Pham Anh Tuan who are currently on the payroll of Song Lam Nghe An Youth Training Center.
