Earlier, on June 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the counterattack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces had begun. According to the Russian leader, the tasks set by Kiev cannot be achieved in any war zone.

Moscow said that the large-scale Ukrainian counterattack began on the Zaporizhzhia front, stressing that the Ukrainian army had suffered heavy losses and had not achieved any of its goals.
