Russia claims to have shot down two Ukrainian generals in a precision strike in Kramatorsk
The Russian Defense Ministry said on June 29 that its forces shot down two Ukrainian generals in a high-precision strike on the city of Kramatorsk in Donbass.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, its forces attacked the temporary base of the 56th Motorized Infantry Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, where a meeting was reportedly taking place with the participation of dozens of Ukrainian officers and foreign advisers. The ministry said it shot down two Ukrainian generals, 50 Ukrainian officers, and 20 foreign mercenaries and military advisers.

The information was released as Russia continued to repel Ukrainian attacks on defensive positions in the Zaporizhzhya region and in Donbass. The Russian Defense Ministry announced that Ukraine had lost nearly 800 servicemen in attacks on multiple fronts in the past 24 hours. In addition, Russian forces destroyed dozens of Ukrainian heavy equipment, including artillery, armored vehicles and tanks.
Ukraine is suffering heavy losses in the counter-offensive. Western countries have warned that further aid to Ukraine will depend on the outcome of the counter-offensive, the Financial Times reported. General Christopher Cavoli, NATO’s top commander in Europe, said last week that Russia still enjoys “the advantage of numbers.”
