Advertised as premium thanks to the same farming and processing methods as Japanese Wagyu beef, in recent days, Australian Hokubee beef has been sold on the "online market" at shockingly cheap prices.

Australian beef has been imported and sold widely in the Vietnamese market for many years. However, to enjoy Australian Hokubee beef tenderloin, fans of this dish have to spend from 700,000 to 900,000 VND for 1 kg. The price is considered quite expensive compared to other imported beef sold on the market today.

Recently, many people have been selling Australian Hokubee beef on the "online market". This type of beef is advertised as premium because it uses the same farming and processing methods as Japanese Wagyu beef. Thanks to this, the beef has marbled fat, making the meat soft and smooth when eaten.

But what makes many steak lovers surprised is the super cheap price of Hokubee beef tenderloin, only from 280,000-350,000 VND/kg depending on the type.

A Hokubee Australian beef tenderloin seller in Cau Giay (Hanoi) named Phan Thi Thuy Chi said that since mid-June, her store has shipped 4 shipments to fulfill customer orders.

According to Ms. Chi, normally this premium beef is quite expensive, the cheapest is up to 700,000 VND/kg. However, this time the import company is running a promotion so the price has dropped sharply.

There are two types of Hokubee beef tenderloin on the market: round and oval. She is selling the round cut type for nearly 300,000 VND/kg; orders of 2 kg or more cost 280,000 VND/kg.

"The beef is newly frozen, not stock because the expiration date is 2024," Chi affirmed. Because the price is so cheap, the goods are also in high demand. On average, she sells 80-120 kg of this Australian beef per trip.

At an online market in Linh Dam area (Hoang Mai, Hanoi), beef tenderloin is also being sold for 320,000 VND/kg. Below each post, there are dozens, even hundreds of comments ordering 1-2 kg each.

Ms. Vu Thuy Duong in Nghiem Xuan Yem (Thanh Tri, Hanoi) after ordering Hokubee beef tenderloin, shared that with a price of just over 300,000 VND/kg, this type of Australian beef is as cheap as some types of beef sold in the market. Therefore, she took the opportunity to buy 2 kg to make beef steak.

"Normally, this Australian beef tenderloin is very expensive, my family only dares to buy it to eat during the holidays. Now it's being sold a lot, the price is so cheap, so I'm a bit worried about the quality but still bought it once to try it out," she said.

Talking to PV. VietNamNet, Mr. Pham Trung Tien - owner of a store specializing in high-end imported beef in Hoang Mai said that there are many types of imported beef. For example, the same Australian beef tenderloin but there are types A, B, C,... Accordingly, depending on the type, there are different prices.

This is also part of the reason why Hokubee beef has many different prices on the market. As for quality, only importers and sellers know clearly, buyers cannot tell with the naked eye whether it is good or not, said Mr. Tien.

A large chain of imported food stores in Hanoi that sells Australian Hokubee beef tenderloin also confirmed that this is a type of technological beef. The characteristic is that the meat is round or oval, evenly spaced, and frozen.

However, they also emphasized that although it is called technological beef, the beef is still safe and limited to mixing other additives. Because, the beef veins in the meat are taken from the fat on that piece of meat, using modern larding technology to inject into the red meat. Thanks to that, the meat becomes more delicious, more beautiful but still ensures nutritional value.
