Man was beaten up in front of his house late at night

Nghiem Viet Anh was riding his motorbike home when he saw a group of strangers standing there and they started arguing. Then the group attacked and beat him to the point that he had to be hospitalized.

On the evening of July 8, a leader of Lang Thuong Ward Police (Dong Da District, Hanoi) said that they had identified two subjects who beat Nghiem Viet Anh to the point of requiring emergency hospitalization during the night. The ward police have completed the case file and transferred it to the district police for investigation and clarification.

Meanwhile, Ms. Le Thi Lan Phuong (living at No. 14, Lane 1194/90, Lang Street, Lang Thuong Ward, Dong Da District, Hanoi) said that at around 11:10 p.m. on July 6, she discovered her husband, Nghiem Viet Anh, was beaten by a group of people in front of the house.

“I ran downstairs and saw my husband collapsed in a pool of blood, his head swollen and in a panic. After that, people took him to the emergency room at the Transport Hospital,” Ms. Phuong recounted the incident.

Ms. Phuong said that earlier, when her husband came home on his motorbike, he saw a group of strangers standing there and they had an argument. Then, the group of people jumped in and beat her husband.

“My husband and I did not know where this group of strangers were from, but they suddenly stood in front of house number 12-14, lane 1194/90, Lang street. My husband had no conflicts or grudges with anyone in this group,” Ms. Phuong affirmed.

According to Ms. Phuong, after the incident, the local people took the group of people who beat her husband to the Lang Thuong Ward Police Station. Ms. Phuong also wrote a report to the Lang Thuong Ward Police Station.

Lying on the hospital bed, Nghiem Viet Anh said his whole body ached, his left eye was bruised and he could not open it, and the back of his neck was swollen. On the afternoon of July 7, Lang Thuong Ward Police came to see him to assess his injuries.
