While serving a sentence for human trafficking, the 'monster' continues to appear in court for bringing women to China.
(Baonghean.vn) - Cut Thi Tu was serving an 8-year prison sentence when she was found to be involved in human trafficking. This defendant was on trial for the second time for the same crime.
On July 20, the People's Court of Nghe An province opened a trial of defendant Cut Thi Tu (born 1993), residing in Ta Ca commune, Ky Son district, and Lo Van Duc (born 1990), residing in Huu Lap commune, Ky Son district, both for the crime of Human trafficking.
Previously, Tu was identified as being involved in a human trafficking case and was sentenced to 8 years in prison in 2021.
Regarding this case, the case file shows that around 2015, during a meeting, Tu told Duc to find women to take to China to sell for marriage, agreeing that "if the woman is beautiful, he will pay 20 million, and if the woman is ugly, he will pay 10 million".

In December 2016, Duc met with Luong Thi U. (born in 1995) and her husband, residing in Bao Nam commune, Ky Son district, to ask if anyone wanted to work for a company in Ho Chi Minh City. At that time, U.'s husband (now deceased) agreed to let his wife go to work.
Two days later, believing what Duc said was true, he drove his wife to the meeting place to hand her over to Duc. Following Tu's instructions, Duc took the girl to Mong Cai City (Quang Ninh).
At this time, Duc told U. that he was going to China to get married and would pay the family 100 million VND. Because there was no other way, the girl had to agree to follow Duc to China.
In a foreign country, Tu took Ms. U. to her husband's house for about a week and then sold her to a Chinese man for 165 million VND. Tu gave Duc 150 million VND and pocketed 15 million VND for himself.
After returning to Vietnam, Duc gave Ms. U's father 70 million VND. Duc spent the remaining money on personal expenses.
After 2 years of being a foreign wife, Ms. U. fled back to Vietnam. On February 8, 2023, the victim filed a complaint about Lo Van Duc's behavior with the police.
At the trial, the two defendants admitted to committing the crimes as charged in the indictment. Both admitted that out of greed, they colluded to sell the victim to a foreign country.
After a comprehensive review of the case, the court sentenced Cut Thi Tu to 6 years in prison, combining the previous sentence and forcing the defendant to serve a total sentence of 14 years in prison. Sentenced Lo Van Duc to 6 years in prison for the crime of Human Trafficking.
