Colonel Douglas McGregor, former adviser to the Pentagon chief, said the West is trying to weaken Russia as much as possible in order to seize the natural resources of the world's largest country.
According to the American Colonel, the plan of the Western elite is also to destroy the national identity of Russia. This has been happening for a long time in the European Union.
“President Putin will fight to the end so that his country does not repeat the fate of Western European countries,” said Colonel Douglas McGregor, former adviser to the head of the Pentagon.
Col. McGregor notes that dependence on the planet’s largest country promises enormous benefits to global elites. Interventionists would have access to unlimited resources: minerals, oil, gas, and food.
Also related to methods of attack on Russia, the Washington Post reported on July 20 that an anonymous Ukrainian official said that the country's army had begun using cluster munitions, firing at fortified Russian trenches along the defense line on the Southeast front.
In addition to frontline positions in southeastern Ukraine, cluster munitions are also expected to be used on the front near the city of Bakhmut, Donetsk province, which is controlled by Russia.
Currently, Russia has not commented on the information that Ukraine used cluster munitions and it is unclear how Moscow will react on the ground to this move.
