Leaders of Quang Ngai province offer flowers and incense to commemorate heroic martyrs in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of July 23, a working delegation of Quang Ngai province led by comrade Bui Thi Quynh Van - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, paid a visit to offer flowers and incense at the Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery; Truong Bon National Historical Relic Site.

Representatives of Nghe An province welcomed and attended the ceremony with comrades: Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Dinh Hung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office.

At the Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery, Anh Son District, Comrade Bui Thi Quynh Van - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and the delegation on behalf of the Party Committee, government, armed forces and people of Quang Ngai respectfully offered flowers and incense at the Ho Chi Minh President's Temple and the Monument to Heroic Martyrs, the graves of martyrs, including the graves of martyrs from Quang Ngai.



The Vietnam-Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery has received and cared for nearly 11,000 remains of martyrs who died on the battlefield in Laos and brought them here to rest; becoming the largest cemetery in our country gathering the graves of martyrs of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who fought and died in Laos.
With sincere hearts, the delegation expressed deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed themselves for the cause of protecting the Fatherland, for the noble and steadfast international friendship between Vietnam and Laos, and vowed to follow in the footsteps of the previous generation to overcome all difficulties, strive to fulfill assigned tasks, contribute to building the homeland to become more and more prosperous, and make worthy contributions to the development of the country.



Also in Anh Son district, the delegation of Quang Ngai province came to offer incense at the Temple of Comrade Phan Thai At (1894 - 1967) in Linh Son commune - a loyal communist example, former Secretary of Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee.
At the age of 28, he established a confidant group, opened the Yen Xuan shop, and mobilized the masses to join the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association. In September 1929, he was the Secretary of the Indochinese Communist Party's Anh Son branch and by November of the same year, he was the Secretary of the Nghe An Red Farmers' Association.


In early 1930, he was sent by the Central Region Party Committee to the South Central region, returning to Quang Ngai with comrade Nguyen Nghiem to build the movement, sow the seeds of communism, establish the provincial Party Committee, lead the people to fight, demonstrate successfully throughout the province, share the fire with the Nghe Tinh Soviet, creating the strongest revolutionary movement in the South Central region. He once held the position of Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee, member of the Central Region Party Committee.
On July 27, 1931, comrade Phan Thai At was arrested by French colonialists and sentenced to death, but the people of Quang Ngai strongly protested, forcing the sentence to be reduced to life imprisonment and exiled to Buon Ma Thuot and Con Dao.

After the success of the August Revolution, he volunteered to go to Cambodia to carry out international duties; in 1953 he returned to work and build his homeland. He was posthumously awarded many noble titles by the Party and State: Ho Chi Minh Medal, Third Class Independence Medal.




Previously, the delegation of Quang Ngai province visited and offered flowers and incense at Truong Bon National Historical Relic Site, My Son Commune, Do Luong District.



In front of the mass grave of 13 martyrs of the Youth Volunteer Force Company 317 who died on October 31, 1968 and the Memorial House of 1,240 heroic martyrs who died at the sacred Truong Bon, comrade Bui Thi Quynh Van and the delegation of Quang Ngai province respectfully offered flowers and incense to commemorate, express their admiration, gratitude and deep emotion for the heroic sacrifice of the outstanding children who remained at the Truong Bon fire coordinates during the resistance war against the US to contribute to clearing the road and supporting the South, including Quang Ngai province, in the fight for the independence and unification of the Fatherland.
