(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of August 22, witnessed by Thanh Thuy Commune Police (Thanh Chuong), Ms. Nguyen Thi Luu returned a bag containing her passport, personal documents, and VND 8.1 million to a Russian tourist.

Previously, at around 2:00 p.m. on August 22, Ms. Nguyen Thi Luu (39 years old, resident of Thanh Thuy commune) picked up a bag while traveling on the Ho Chi Minh trail through Thanh An commune (Thanh Chuong).
Due to being busy with work, that same evening, when returning to her hometown, Ms. Luu brought the bag to Thanh Thuy Commune Police Station to report and ask them to find the owner to return it.
During the verification process, Thanh Thuy Commune Police determined that this was the bag that Mr. Nikitenko (29 years old, Russian nationality) reported lost in the early afternoon of August 22.
According to Mr. Nikitenko’s report, that same morning, he and a group of friends were “backpacking” on the Ho Chi Minh trail, passing through Thanh Chuong district. During the trip, due to carelessness, Mr. Nikitenko dropped his bag containing his passport, many important documents and some cash.
Receiving all the lost property back, the Russian tourist was extremely happy and grateful, continuously saying “thank you” in Vietnamese. Mr. Nikitenko gave Ms. Luu some money as a thank you, but Ms. Luu refused.
