The appearance needs to match the role, because the character is a girl who eats a lot, often sells dumplings and snacks. I tried to gain weight and get into character. Luckily, this role was loved by everyone. I think a movie is like a miniature society, there will be fat people, thin people, tall people, short people. So this special appearance serves my acting career very well.
Sometimes I tease directors that no one can compete with me for fat roles. Because I am the fattest,” Truong Phuong humorously shared.

At that time, I don't know if people were joking or not, they told me that even if I studied, it would only be like this, it's best to maintain the naturalness that I've always acted. So for 14 years, I just acted like that instinctively with many different roles," the actress shared more.

Shocked by cultural differences with her Western husband

Besides sharing about her career, Truong Phuong also mentioned her foreign husband with gratitude and happiness. She affirmed that it was very difficult for the couple to come together so this marriage is the greatest success of her life.
ActressMissing someoneShe was also touched and grateful to her partner who left her country to live in Vietnam to support her in her work and career. They had been apart for 2 years due to the pandemic, and they had only gotten married 1 year ago.
“People say that I look so happy, do I ever cry? But actually I cry a lot. After a month away from my husband, I cried so much that I had to find joy in my work to forget it. At this point, my husband and I have planned to have a baby, which is also difficult because I am old.
Actually, my husband and I are not very compatible, often talking and arguing because of cultural differences. For example, in Vietnam, friends often come to visit without prior notice. But in the UK, the culture is the opposite, you have to call first and make an appointment.

So, when my friend came without warning, he blamed me for being impolite. He said that in England, when people open the door, they will bring an umbrella. I wondered why they would bring an umbrella when it wasn't raining.
He said that if I met someone who wanted to greet me, he would say that I had just come back from outside. If someone did not want to greet me, he would hold an umbrella and say that I was about to go out. I had to respect that so that my husband and I could have a common voice. Although there were many things that made my husband and I disagree, I was still lucky because he was an older man and very understanding. He always explained to make everything go smoothly.
Before getting married, my husband and I also lived together for 5 years. Maybe many people are a bit shocked and judge. But I believe that a marriage is like a step towards an important thing in life. I bought a shirt and pants and tried them on, so there is no reason why I should not try them when getting married,” Truong Phuong confided.
Talking about the secret to balancing career, business and family, the actress affirmed that she is lucky to have the support of everyone around her. Thanks to that, her work is reduced, making it easier for her to balance life and be successful.
