Dancer Hoang Yen won first prize in the 2023 National Dance Talent Competition

(Baonghean.vn) - Dancer Hoang Yen is the daughter of People's Artist Hong Luu and Meritorious Artist An Ninh, currently teaching at the Military University of Culture and Arts.

The "National Dance Talent Competition - 2023" is chaired by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, assigned to the Department of Performing Arts in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports of Hanoi City, the Vietnam Dance Artists Association, the Vietnam National Song and Dance Theater and related agencies and units to organize. The competition brings together 61 dancers from 24 participating units, held at the Au Co Art Center.

The contest is open to Vietnamese citizens aged 16-35, who are actors working at professional public and non-public art units with legal status; lecturers and students studying at public and non-public art training institutions operating legally in Vietnam.

The competition is divided into 3 groups with 3 styles: Group A - Ballet (classical and modern), Group B - Contemporary, Group C - Folk (ethnic, contemporary) and traditional.

After a week of competitive performances, artists and actors from all over the country brought the audience many emotions, colorful perspectives containing many historical values, and unique artistic performances of dance art.

Bringing to the competition two works, including Nam Phuong Mau Te (choreographed by Nguyen Tan Loc) and Dao Lieu (choreographed by Nguyen Ngoc Anh), dancer Hoang Yen demonstrated excellent technique and divine nuances in her performance to bring home First Prize of the competition.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Ta Quang Dong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism said: "After this artistic talent competition, many talented young artists and actors with high qualifications and good performance and acting techniques have appeared. Many performances have explored new ways of expression, achieved the beauty and technicality of the performance, ensuring the right style, preserving the soul of the art form that the contestants competed in. Many performances have a complete structure, logical ideas that have truly conquered the judges and the audience".
