Forum to improve communication on efficient energy use
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of August 30, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Journalists Association organized the Forum "Improving propaganda on efficient use of energy for sustainable development".
The forum was chaired by comrades: Nguyen Thi Su - Deputy General Director of Vietnam News Agency; Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Dinh Thien - economic expert, member of the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Group; Dr. Nguyen Minh Phong - former Deputy Head of Department, Deputy Head of Theoretical Propaganda Department - Secretary of the Scientific and Professional Council of Nhan Dan Newspaper; Dr. Vu Dinh Anh - economic expert; Nguyen Van Long - Vice President, General Secretary of the Vietnam Association for Science and Technology on Energy Saving and Efficiency.
Attending the forum were leading economic experts, speakers and representatives of agencies, ministries, departments, branches and press agencies.
In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association emphasized: Energy plays an important role in economic growth and environmental protection. Using energy economically and efficiently has been considered one of the important pillars to ensure energy security as well as help the energy sector develop sustainably.
Under the leadership of the Party and the management of the State, the press system has constantly improved its quality; continued to innovate content, form, technical means, and journalism technology in the "digital" era. Thanks to that, the effectiveness of propaganda has been improved.
There have been many press works focusing on raising public awareness about using energy economically and efficiently; reducing energy consumption in industries and economic sectors; encouraging energy saving to become a regular activity for key energy-using facilities and key economic sectors that consume a lot of energy, towards the goal of green growth and sustainable development.
With diverse forms: Print, Electronic, Radio and Television, the works have promptly reflected typical advanced examples, experiences and effective methods in localities in applying energy saving solutions; facilities, construction works, research on economical and efficient energy use.
Reporters nationwide, with many new topics, detailed highly creative energy saving issues and solutions, attracting readers, contributing to creating positive changes in the awareness of people, businesses, and state agencies in using and saving energy.
Speaking at the forum, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper Nguyen Thi Thu Huong gave a speech on promoting propaganda work on improving energy efficiency for sustainable development.
Nghe An is a province with a particularly harsh climate. In the summer months of May and June, the weather is at its hottest, with average temperatures reaching over 38-39 degrees Celsius, and in many places the temperature reaches 40 degrees Celsius (sometimes over 44 degrees Celsius). The extreme heat makes the need for electricity for daily life very urgent.
