(Baonghean.vn) - As the embodiment of the nation's aspiration for independence, freedom and happiness, throughout his life, President Ho Chi Minh had only one wish: to bring "independence to the Fatherland, freedom to the nation".

National Day is an occasion for every citizen to be proud of the glorious history of the nation; to think about the lofty and sacred aspirations of the President to unite together, multiply the desire for change, and build an independent, self-reliant, and happy Vietnam.

The greatest success of the August Revolution was the complete abolition of the colonial and feudal regimes, ending the nearly 100-year long night of slavery under foreign domination. National Day September 2, 1945 was a major milestone, opening the birth of an independent nation, so that every Vietnamese citizen could stand before the threshold of democracy, receiving the premises for a life of freedom.

Traveling all over the world to find a way to save the country, President Ho Chi Minh's greatest concern was to bring independence to the Fatherland and freedom to the people. That's why in the first words of the Declaration of Independence, he affirmed:: “All men are created equal. They are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”". Then, when preparing to return to the world of the virtuous, in his Will left for future generations, Uncle Ho only wished for one thing: that our Party would always maintain unity and solidarity, and that the resistance war against the US would be victorious so that the North and the South could reunite as one family, together building the country to be more and more decent and beautiful, and that all the people could live in peace and happiness.

Because of that progressive democratic ideology, in a country that was "hanging by a thread", President Ho Chi Minh skillfully gathered many patriotic intellectuals who were enthusiastic about the revolution, built the most intelligent government, most representative of all classes, and joined hands to realize the noble goal of protecting the independence of the Fatherland and freedom and happiness for the people.

In the context of 95% of the population being illiterate and having just escaped famine in 1945, this was a miracle of Ho Chi Minh.

He said: “If the people are not happy, then independence and freedom are meaningless!” If we want the people to be happy, the Party, as the leader of the revolutionary cause, must be clean and strong; Party members must go first so that the country can follow; cadres must truly be “servants” of the people, not “revolutionary officials”!

For society to develop, people must be free to express their aspirations, to be creative and to contribute to their country and people. Only by promoting democracy can we mobilize the strength of the whole society, especially resources and people for the development of the country. Reality shows that wherever and whenever we deviate from President Ho Chi Minh's ideology on democracy, and do not listen to the constructive voices of the people, it will lead to stagnation and degradation. The important and historically significant achievements of the renovation cause that helped Vietnam escape the status of a backward, underdeveloped country and become a medium-developed country are proof of this.

The new is something that has never appeared before. But the new is often the truth that has been hidden or forgotten in the past, restored and reappeared. The success of the renovation is the success of returning to the true values of the Declaration of Independence that President Ho Chi Minh solemnly declared to the nation. Constantly yearning, constantly dreaming and constantly seeking new opportunities, we have proactively made friends with the world but still maintained ourselves in the style of a free nation in an independent country.

Celebrating National Day September 2nd is an opportunity for each person to look back at themselves to better understand, love and engrave the immense merit of President Ho Chi Minh - the man who devoted his life to the nation as his reason for living and his ideal of service. Gaining independence is for the people and also by the people. It is the people who have used their efforts, intelligence and sacrificed their blood and bones to protect that precious independence and freedom.

Happy Independence Day, rememberlesson of unitythat President Ho Chi Minh stated in the Declaration of Independence to see that, when all people are one, we will have boundless strength to successfully carry out the cause of a rich people, strong country, democratic, fair and civilized society.

Unite all people as one so that the renovation process can quickly succeed, to maintain independence, unity and territorial integrity of the nation.

Unity of all people as one means no fear of any enemy's threat or invasion./.
