This year, on the occasion of the National Day on September 2nd, due to the 4-day holiday, the number of people returning to their hometowns for the holiday and tourists from other localities coming to Nghe An for sightseeing and relaxation will be higher than in previous years. Some tourist destinations in the area have attracted more visitors than before. In particular, the opening and trial run of the North-South Expressway from Hanoi to Dien Chau (Nghe An) has attracted many people from the northern provinces to experience the new route.

In that situation, implementing the direction of the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Transport onStrengthen inspection, examination and handling of violations to ensure people's travel needs., ensuring traffic safety and order before, during and after the National Day holiday on September 2, 2023, the Department of Transport Inspectorate has directed regional transport inspection teams, mobile vehicle weight inspection stations... to conduct inspections right from the departure points at bus stations and strictly handle passenger transport vehicles carrying more than the prescribed number of people, the situation of illegal fare increases; vehicles that do not ensure operating conditions. Resolutely handle organizations and individuals who set up illegal stops, parking, pick-up and drop-off points (illegal stations), and put illegal passenger transport vehicles into operation (illegal vehicles).

Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung - Chief Inspector of the Department of Transport said: In addition to strengthening inspection and control at the starting points, the Department's Inspectorate also directed to strengthen inspection on routes that are both under construction and in operation, and strictly handle construction units that violate regulations on ensuring traffic safety when constructing on roads in operation.

In addition, the inspection force also coordinates with local authorities to check safety conditions at inland waterway ports such as: access roads, guidance systems, signs, life buoys, inland waterway vehicles, inland waterway vehicle operators... Especially, at cross-river passenger ports and passenger transport routes from shore to island. Strengthen control of vehicle load right from the source of goods and strictly handle organizations and individuals who violate regulations.

Coordinate with Nghe An Maritime Port Authority, Representative of Inland Waterways Port Authority in Nghe An to control vehicle load at ports and wharves. Continue to coordinate with the Police force in the general review and inspection of business conditions for passenger and cargo transportation by container; inspect and handle violations of traffic infrastructure protection in the province. At the same time, coordinate to organize guidance and traffic regulation when there are traffic incidents on roads managed by the Department, to avoid prolonged traffic congestion.

Previously, on August 28, 2022, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Official Dispatch No. 22/CD-UBND on ensuring traffic order and safety to serve people's travel needs during the National Day holiday on September 2 and the opening of the new school year 2023-2024.

According to Mr. Hung, based on the Official Dispatch No. 22 of the Provincial People's Committee, the instructions of the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Transport, the instructions of the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Transport, the Department Inspectorate has also developed a plan to ensure order and traffic safety during the National Day holiday on September 2. In which, the Traffic Inspection Team of Region 1 is assigned to organize inspections on routes in Hung Nguyen and Nghi Loc districts, Cua Lo town and Vinh city. Resolutely handle violations of passenger transport vehicles such as: Passenger cars stopping and parking at bus stops to pick up and drop off passengers; buses driving slowly, stopping and parking for a long time at bus stops... especially on National Highway 1 from Ben Thuy bridge to Bac Vinh bus station.

In addition, the Traffic Inspection Team of Region 1 is also assigned to strengthen the inspection of the conditions of drivers and vehicles before departure at bus stations in the management area; strengthen control at cargo hubs to strictly handle vehicles carrying oversized, overloaded goods, and violating the size of the vehicle body circulating on the routes. Regularly coordinate with the People's Committee of Cua Lo town to inspect activities on the inland waterway of Lan Chau - Ngu island; coordinate with functional forces in Vinh city to regulate traffic and ensure traffic during rush hours.

For the Traffic Inspection Teams of Regions 2, 3, and 4, arrange and direct inspection teams on assigned routes and areas to strictly handle violations in the transportation of goods and passengers. Strengthen inspection of safety conditions of traffic infrastructure works...
