(Baonghean.vn) - On September 5, Ban Ve Hydropower Company organized a ceremony to present 20 sets of computers and more than 17,000 notebooks to schools and students in Tuong Duong and Thanh Chuong districts on the occasion of the new school year opening.

Attending the ceremony, on behalf of Tuong Duong district, there were comrade Nguyen Van Hai - Secretary of the District Party Committee; Dinh Hong Vinh - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Committee. On behalf of Thanh Chuong district, there was comrade Trinh Van Nha - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Committee. On behalf of Ban Ve Hydropower Company, there were comrades Ta Huu Hung - Director; Hoang Van Ngoc - Deputy Director.

In Tuong Duong district, Ban Ve Hydropower Company donated 10 computers and 2,920 notebooks to Yen Na Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities; 3,750 notebooks to Luong Minh Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities; 3,080 notebooks to Huu Khuong Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities; and 2,310 notebooks to Huu Khuong Primary School, with a total value of more than 200 million VND.

On the same day, in Thanh Chuong district, Ban Ve Hydropower Company donated 10 sets of computers and more than 5,000 notebooks to Kim Lam Primary School and Huong Tien Primary School in the resettlement areas of Ngoc Lam and Thanh Son communes, with a total value of more than 150 million VND.

It is known that social security work, including educational support, is an annual activity of Ban Ve Hydropower Company. In the third quarter of 2023 alone, Ban Ve Hydropower Company - Branch of Power Generation Corporation 1 donated funds to build boarding houses at Minh Tien Primary School, Luong Minh Commune, worth 990 million VND and supported the construction of 20 gratitude houses with a total value of 1 billion VND for Tuong Duong District.

Ban Ve Hydropower Plant is the largest hydropower project in the North Central region, with a capacity of 320 MW. As a multi-purpose project, in addition to the task of supplying electricity to the national economy, the plant also has the responsibility of supplying water to the downstream during the dry season, cutting and reducing floods during the flood season according to the operating procedures of inter-reservoirs in the Ca River basin. After nearly 13 years of operation, Ban Ve Hydropower Plant has connected to the national grid nearly 13 billion kWh, making an important contribution to the task of ensuring energy security for the country, contributing thousands of billions of VND to the state budget and contributing significantly to the economic - industrial - tourism development of the Western Nghe An region.
