How will Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street in Vinh City be widened to 24 meters?
(Baonghean.vn) - Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street in Vinh City will be widened to 24 meters to meet the transportation needs of the people. This is a long-standing "bottleneck" section of road, while the density of people passing through is high.
Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street will be widened to 24 meters, from the intersection with Truong Van Linh Street to the planned 24-meter road, and will be implemented in two sections, simultaneously starting in 2023.

Section 1 (from Bui Huy Bich Street to the 24m planned road), according to Decision No. 911/2023 of the Vinh City People's Committee, in accordance with the 1/2000 scale zoning plan of Nghi Phu and Hung Loc communes, has a length of 879.41 m and a total investment of 217.3 billion VND.
Section 2 (starting point intersecting with Truong Van Linh Street, ending point intersecting with Bui Huy Bich Street) is planned according to Decision No. 2692 of the Vinh City People's Committee. This section has a total investment of over 93.3 billion VND and is nearly 200m long. The entire road will be constructed with a width of 24m, including a 12m road surface, 2 x 6m sidewalks, and an asphalt pavement.

The construction items ensure the synchronization of the road's technical infrastructure, including drainage ditches, street lighting, sidewalks, utility trenches, Group B works, and Class III traffic.
According to the basic design plan, due to the low elevation, the starting point at Km0 (intersection with Bui Huy Bich road) has a design elevation of +5.34m, and the ending point at Km+879, intersecting with the planned 24m road, has a design elevation of +4.42m. Before embankment construction, the surface layer of organic mud must be completely removed, and the widened section of the embankment adjacent to it will be filled with compacted Class III soil.
The widened road is paved with 7cm thick asphalt concrete, with a 20cm thick base layer of standard crushed stone and a 15cm thick top layer of standard crushed stone. The road is designed with curbs, drainage ditches, paved sidewalks, and Terrazzo-tiled pavements, with shade trees planted on both sides. The road includes a 2m wide irrigation ditch with catch basins, inspection pits, and ditch covers.
The route will be equipped with a comprehensive lighting system, water pipes will be replaced to align with the road surface plan, some new underground power cables will be installed, and overhead power lines will be dismantled and removed.

According to city leaders, the goal of constructing this road is to improve the city's technical infrastructure, meet urban traffic, drainage, and environmental sanitation requirements, and contribute to urban beautification. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2023 and will not exceed four years. Currently, Vinh City has completed the land survey and clearance for the section from the intersection with Truong Van Linh Street to Bui Huy Bich Street.

The current Hai Thuong Lan Ong road has a total length of 2.7km and a width of 10.5-13.5m. It runs from the intersection with Ha Huy Tap road (right at the Kenh Bac bridge) through the administrative area of Ha Huy Tap ward, and through intersections with Le Nin, Truong Van Linh, and Chu Trac roads... The road is adjacent to the Central ENT Hospital, Lotte Mart Vinh supermarket, Ha Huy Tap 2 Primary School, and the City Health Center... The currently widened section of the road has a severely degraded surface, making traffic difficult due to the narrow road.
