Hanoi FC recruits former Cameroon player
Hanoi FC announced: “After many negotiations, Hanoi Football Club officially announced the acquisition of striker Diederrick Joel Tagueu Tadjo. The striker, born in 1993, played for U20 Cameroon and made his debut for the Cameroon national team in the 2018 CAN CUP qualifiers.”
Joel Tagueu played 6 matches for Cameroon, being a teammate of Andre Onana - the goalkeeper currently playing for Man Utd. Tagueu scored 1 goal for the national team - a goal against Zambia in a friendly match in 2019. The player missed that year's African Cup of Nations due to health problems. He has not been called up to the Cameroon team since then.

Striker Joel Tagueu grew up in Brazil's Iraty youth academy. He also played for many famous clubs in the South American country such as Santos, Botafogo, Cruzeiro. In 2018, he joined CS Maritimo and played in the Portuguese professional leagues. Notably, Tagueu also faced current Man Utd captain Bruno Fernandes.
"I am excited about the challenges ahead, the new team has shown me investment and ambition. This is an important season for me and the team members. But we will be determined to achieve the best results," said Tagueu.
Up to now, Hanoi FC has 7 foreign players in the squad. However, the capital team is only allowed to register 6 foreign players (including 1 Asian player) in matches at AFC Champions League. The runner-up of V.League 2023 is making a huge investment before entering the continental playground.
President of the Spanish Football Federation resigns after kissing female player
In an interview with Piers Morgan, President of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) Luis Rubiales said that he had sent a request to resign as President of the RFEF.
Previously, during the 2023 Women's World Cup Awards Ceremony right after the final match between Spain and England, Mr. Rubiales hugged midfielder Hermoso and kissed her on the lips. He did not think this action was excessive despite facing strong condemnation from public opinion. Hermoso also affirmed that Rubiales' actions were not with her consent.

FIFA then suspended Rubiales for 90 days pending an investigation. Hermoso also filed a complaint with the national prosecutor's office. Her complaint was forwarded to Spain's Supreme Court.
Even though he resigned, Rubiales may not be out of trouble. Hermoso’s lawsuit means he faces criminal charges. If convicted of sexual assault, Rubiales could face a fine or one to four years in prison.
Rubiales is a former player, trained at Atletico youth academy, won the Spanish Second Division with Levante in 2004 and played in La Liga.
After retiring in 2009, Rubiales was elected President of the Spanish Footballers' Association and then elected President of the RFEF in May 2018.
