Why is the smart key in the car still locked?
The smart key being locked in the car happens when the battery is low, the key is out of battery or the car's door locking system is faulty.
Smart keys are a popular feature on cars today. Smart keys allow the owner to perform operations such as opening/locking doors and starting the car without having to take the key out of their person.
The car detects the signal from the chip in the smart key by emitting radio waves, which tells it whether the key is near the car or not. The car can also detect whether the key is in the cabin or outside the car.
Smart car keys are integrated with many modern features such as high anti-theft, can connect to smartphones, key forgetting warning feature... Smart keys all have a mechanism to help prevent users from accidentally locking the door and forgetting the key inside the car. If the key is left behind when leaving the car, the owner will not be able to lock the door. This also applies when the key is left in the trunk.
However, in some special cases, it is possible to leave the keys in the car and the doors are completely locked.

The first case that can happen is a weak or dead battery. At that time, the car does not have enough energy to ensure that the systems on the car are always on, including broadcasting radio waves to identify the key. Therefore, the battery needs to be replaced periodically every 3-5 years (depending on the car manufacturer) because this is a component that wears out over time.
The second possible scenario is when the smart key has a weak or dead battery. This scenario is more common. When the smart key has a weak or dead battery, the car has difficulty detecting whether the key is near the car or in the cabin.
Therefore, if the key is low on battery in the car, the owner may accidentally lock the door and cannot open it because the car is no longer able to recognize the key. In this situation, the fastest solution is to use a spare key, or use an unlocking service. It is best to replace the battery when there are signs of low battery to prevent the above situation from happening.
The third case can occur when the electronic door opening system fails. In this situation, the only way to fix it is to go to the official service center for repair and warranty according to the manufacturer's standards.
According to experts, to avoid forgetting the key in a locked car, drivers should always carry the key with them in their pockets, such as shirt or pants pockets; avoid leaving it in handbags, jackets, etc., which are easy to forget in the car.
