Breaking up a case, arresting 02 subjects, seizing more than 26,000 synthetic drug pills
(Baonghean.vn) - The Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, Con Cuong District Police, in coordination with the Provincial Police and Tuong Duong District Police, has successfully broken up a drug case, arrested 2 subjects, and seized 26,000 synthetic drug pills.
Previously, through the work of grasping the situation in districts on National Highway 7, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department and Con Cuong District Police discovered a number of subjects in the two districts of Con Cuong and Ky Son with signs of suspected drug crimes.
After conducting verification, the police discovered that Vu Van Dang (born in 1974), residing in Chau Khe commune, Con Cuong district, was the mastermind. Dang colluded with Luong Van Hung (born in 1979), residing in Chieu Luu commune, Ky Son district, to buy drugs from Lao people bordering Ky Son district and then take them to the northern provinces for consumption. Faced with that situation, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department asked for the opinion of the provincial police leadership to establish a special project to focus on fighting and eradicating the drug.

Using synchronous professional measures, at about 5:00 p.m. on September 14, 2023, the Task Force discovered that Vu Van Dang was driving a motorbike from his house to Ky Son district, then picked up Luong Van Hung and moved to the mountainous area of Ta Ca commune, Ky Son district. The Task Force sent a working group to monitor and closely follow the movements of the subjects. At about 10:00 p.m., the working group discovered 2 subjects leaving and returning in the direction of Con Cuong district. After that, Hung got off the car to go home, while Dang continued to move. The Task Force determined that Dang and Hung had successfully traded drugs with Lao subjects, so they reported to Colonel Nguyen Duc Hai - Deputy Director, Head of the Investigation Police Agency of the Provincial Police, Head of the Task Force for advice on solving the case and received approval.
Accordingly, at around 11:45 p.m. the same day, at Km109, National Highway 7, Chau Khe Commune, Con Cuong District, the Task Force caught Vu Van Dang red-handed for illegally buying, selling and transporting drugs. At the scene, the authorities seized evidence including 26,000 synthetic drug pills, 01 mobile phone and 01 motorbike.

The leader of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department said that during the fight, the Task Force encountered many difficulties because Vu Van Dang had a criminal record related to drugs and crime, so he had many sophisticated and cunning tricks to deal with it. In addition, the time of arresting Dang was at night, the rugged mountainous terrain combined with heavy rain made it very difficult for the authorities to track the subject. During the process of buying drugs, the two subjects separated on the way back to distract and cause difficulties for the Task Force.
During the arrest, Vu Van Dang violently drove his car straight into the police force in an attempt to escape. However, with his bravery, intelligence and determination to fight crime to the end, the Task Force successfully controlled and arrested Vu Van Dang, ensuring the safety of the force and the subject.
Expanding the investigation, the Special Task Force issued an arrest warrant for Luong Van Hung (the subject who directly worked with Vu Van Dang to trade drugs with Laotian subjects). Although he did not have a criminal record like Dang, Hung was cunning and sophisticated. Hung's house was isolated, without neighbors, and behind the house was the riverbank, so when he discovered something was wrong, he could easily jump into the river to escape.

In addition, Hung himself is a drug addict and a very sophisticated drug dealer, only selling to relatives and acquaintances, making it very difficult to detect and approach. Hung has many trusted juniors who act as lookouts and are ready to protect him. To ensure the safety of officers and soldiers, the Task Force decided not to arrest him immediately that night, but arranged a working group of 10 comrades to monitor and follow all of Hung's movements. By dawn on September 15, the Task Force had successfully arrested the subject. Searching Hung's private home in Chieu Luu commune, Ky Son district, the authorities seized nearly 200 synthetic drug pills.
At the Nghe An Provincial Police Investigation Agency, the two suspects Vu Van Dang and Luong Van Hung confessed to their crimes. Currently, the investigation is still being expanded.
