On the afternoon of September 27, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De inspected the flood situation and directed natural disaster prevention and control plans in Quy Chau district. Accompanying him were Mr. Phung Thanh Vinh - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and related departments and branches.

After heavy rains from September 25 to 27, widespread flooding occurred in Quy Chau district, with an estimated number of flooded households exceeding 1,000, mainly in localities such as Tan Lac town, Chau Hanh, Chau Binh, Chau Hoi...

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the working delegation directly inspected the flooding situation in Tan Huong block, Tan Lac town, where 60 households were flooded, of which the most heavily flooded household was nearly 4 meters deep. The entire Tan Lac town has about 200 flooded households. To move around the blocks in the ward, you have to use boats and canoes, and vehicles cannot go through the inner city area.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested Tan Lac town to mobilize forces and means to support flooded households, evacuate people and property to safe places. Conduct inspections, reviews, and statistics of specific damages to report on remedial measures.

According to a report from Quy Chau district, from September 26, 2023 to September 27, 2023, heavy rain occurred in the district, causing damage to people's property and crops.

The whole district has about 1,108 flooded households, of which in Tan Lac town there are 4 flooded blocks with about 200 households. Chau Hanh commune has 5 flooded villages with about 146 households, Chau Tien commune has 4 flooded villages with about 566 households, Chau Binh commune has 5 flooded villages with about 50 households... The total number of flooded households is 1,108 households; thousands of livestock and poultry are being assisted by rescue forces to move to safety.

In addition, there are many landslides on traffic routes such as National Highway 48A, National Highway 48B, National Highway 48D. All spillways in Quy Chau district are flooded. Regarding agricultural production, the total flooded rice area is 442 hectares, sugarcane 91.3 hectares, cassava 4.1 hectares.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested Quy Chau district and communes in the district to well implement the on-site plan 4, arrange police and militia forces to support people in evacuating to safe places and ensuring their property, and at the same time deploy measures to handle situations when floods continue to rise.

The district must organize forces to be ready to control, put up warning signs, and guide traffic, especially in flooded bridges and areas with fast-flowing water. Propaganda and mobilize people to absolutely not fish in rivers and streams when it is raining and the water is high, to avoid unfortunate incidents.
