Previously, at 7:15 a.m. on September 27, the Tien Phong Commune Military Command received a report from Mr. Luong Van An in Muong Him village about discovering a bomb in a stream next to his house. The bomb was discovered lying under the stream due to the landslide caused by many days of rain, about 1/3 of it had risen above the ground.
Upon receiving the news, the Military Command of Tien Phong commune quickly sent forces to the scene, blocked off the bomb area, put up signs in the dangerous area, organized 24/7 vigilance to prevent people and vehicles from approaching the bomb area; at the same time, reported to the People's Committee of Que Phong district and the Military Command of Que Phong district for information and direction.
Immediately after receiving the news, the Military Command of Que Phong district organized forces to go to the scene to verify the information and determined that the bomb was a demolition bomb left over from the war, 40cm in diameter, 150cm long and weighing about 340kg, colorless, with intact detonator, and rusted.
