Bring love to disadvantaged and disadvantaged women and children
(Baonghean.vn) - Entering the meaningful month of October, the Women's Union at all levels in the province has implemented many creative and meaningful activities to accompany, share and help women and children in difficult circumstances to rise up in life.
In recent days, more than 20 disabled women and girls in difficult circumstances in Ky Son district have been encouraged, visited and given many meaningful gifts by the District Women's Union in coordination with grassroots associations.

Returning from the emotional trips, Ms. Vu Thi Huyen - President of the Women's Union of Ky Son district sadly shared that there are still difficult circumstances that need attention and help in the upcoming journey. For example, Ven Thi Chon (born in 2012) is a child of the Kho Mu ethnic group in Luu Thang village, Chieu Luu commune. Her parents separated when she was very young, her entire childhood was full of hardship and deprivation because her grandparents were old, had poor health and lived in extremely deprived conditions.
Then there are disabled women who were infected with Agent Orange, such as Ms. Lo Thi Nam (born in 1973) in Khe Nan village, Chieu Luu commune or Ms. Denh Y Hua (born in 1969) living in Huoi Kha village, Huoi Tu commune, who are both disabled and single mothers.
Understanding the disadvantages and difficulties of female members and children in the district, since the beginning of October, the Women's Union at all levels of Ky Son district have joined hands to organize many activities to visit, encourage and give warm and meaningful gifts.
"Gifts of love become more meaningful as October 20 is approaching. It is a joy and a companionship to help us temporarily forget the difficulties ahead," Ms. Cut Thi Thanh (born in 1985), La Ngan village, Chieu Luu commune, Ky Son district, emotionally shared.
In Tuong Duong, in recent days, women's associations at all levels have organized a program to honor women with disabilities who have overcome difficulties in 2023 and implemented many meaningful activities for mothers, sisters and children in difficult circumstances in the area.

For example, in Tam Thai commune, two elderly women in difficult circumstances in Canh Trap and Xoong Con villages were supported by women's associations at all levels to dig and level the ground and dismantle their houses before the construction team started construction under the State's support program.
Along with that, the Women's Union of the commune also launched the "Zero-VND Booth" model with hundreds of clothes, school bags, notebooks... and 2.7 million VND in cash to give to disadvantaged students. This is the second time the program has taken place, before that the booth was opened once to support more than 140 women and children in difficult circumstances in the area.

Or in Thach Giam town, the Women's Union of the town successfully organized a cultural exchange night to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the Vietnam Women's Union and mobilized support for the "Godmother" fund. In just one night, the association mobilized 21 million VND from people and agencies and units in the area to contribute to this program.

In Dien Chau district, the program "Turning scrap into breeding animals" to give to members in difficult circumstances has been widely implemented at all levels of the Women's Union. In particular, before the October 20 holiday, the branches have implemented it more actively and effectively. Thanks to that, dozens of disadvantaged members in the area have been given breeding animals to develop livestock farming. Along with that, many practical gifts have been given by the Women's Union at all levels to female members in especially difficult circumstances and with serious illnesses.

For Thanh Chuong district, activities for women and poor members have also been actively implemented by local women's union organizations. 95 female members with difficult circumstances have been awarded livelihood models with cattle, goats, pigs, and chickens to develop production models.
It is known that since the beginning of October, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Women's Union has developed a plan, guided propaganda and organized activities towards the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930 - October 20, 2023) and the 13th anniversary of Vietnamese Women's Day (October 20, 2010 - October 20, 2023). The activities were organized enthusiastically and practically with diverse and rich forms, suitable to the actual conditions in the locality and unit. In particular, attention was paid to female members and children in difficult circumstances, with disabilities and disadvantages.

In the first 6 months of the year alone, the Women's Union at all levels mobilized more than 2 billion 393 million VND; donated 3,628 cash gifts, 2,750 gifts in kind with a total value of more than 2 billion 574 million VND to visit and give gifts to poor women members, poor children, single women, and disabled women.
Activities to support women with disabilities continue to be of interest to all levels of the Association. Since the beginning of the year, the Association has organized support activities such as visiting, giving gifts, giving health insurance cards, helping with working days, breeding animals, supporting livelihood models, connecting product consumption, training in scientific and technical knowledge, animal husbandry, etc.
In particular, entering October - the month of loving and honoring women, the Women's Union at all levels has carried out many social activities to mobilize maximum resources to effectively carry out the work of caring for the lives of members, poor women, and women with disabilities. At the same time, it creates motivation for women to be creative in labor and production, increase income, and gradually improve their lives./.
