- Huyen Lizzie used to be 'jealous' of Kieu Anh because she got to be Manh Truong's wife in 'Crocodile File' while she only played the sister-in-law. Now in 'We of 8 Years Later', her dream of acting with Manh Truong has come true. Does that put pressure on you?
Everyone knows that "fulfilling dreams" is just a joke, but it's true that with an actor like Manh Truong, I think everyone wants to act romantically with him once. Because Truong really has both good looks and good acting skills. When we act out emotional scenes or look into each other's eyes, I have to admit that we are very compatible.
When I found out that my co-star was Manh Truong, I was very excited. It was also a fresh color for the audience because up until now, the two brothers had only played other relationships, never playing a love role together.
This time, director Bui Tien Huy trusts the two brothers with the roles and I think this freshness will surprise the audience. Right now, Lam and Duong have not filmed much together because the script is still being written, so I don't know how the characters will develop in the future, how their feelings will be. But from now on, I have mentally prepared myself for the couple on screen.
- Huyen once played the role of Manh Truong's wife in an unhappy marriage in 'Running Away from Youth', after 5 years everything is no longer the same. Huyen is in a different position and Manh Truong is already a father of 3 children, returning to this film, have your feelings changed compared to before? Do Huyen and Truong have any hesitations when playing lovers?
I don’t think too much, I just want to work as effectively as possible. For me, everything is very simple because Mr. Truong is my co-star and on set I just have to show the true colors of the character. Of course, Mr. Truong is still a father of 3 children in public, but on set he is my co-star. The audience can say that I will have a lot of difficulties interacting with my co-star, but that is only part of it.
I think we don't have to interact with each other too much outside, the important thing is that on set we act in harmony and give our full emotions to each other's characters. For me, 5 years ago and now are no different. The only thing is that I get to act with the co-star I've always wanted to work with, I have to try my best so that the opportunity the director gives me is not wasted.
Rumors are just rumors
- After a year off from acting, you returned with 'We of 8 Years Later' in a different position, especially the heat of 'Love the Sunny Days' which may have created your lifetime role. Is Huyen under pressure to overcome the huge shadow of 'Love the Sunny Days' as well as mentally prepare for the audience to compare the new role with Van Trang?
Actually, it was a lot of pressure, terrible pressure! After more than a year, I returned to the screen. I was eager, waiting to receive a role that was enough for me to participate in later.Love the sunny days. Pressure also exists but the two characters Duong in the colorUs 8 years laterand Van Trang ofLove the sunny dayscompletely different.
If this time I took on a role with the same color as Van Trang, and a well-dressed CEO, it would definitely be boring for the audience and that would put more pressure on me. But with this new role, the pressure for me is only on the character's inner self. As for the color of Anh Duong inUs 8 years later,I think the audience will definitely accept this role even though I don't dress well, I'm even rough, edgy, careless and don't care about my appearance.
But who knows, maybe that's what attracts viewers. Whether I act well or not will have to wait until the movie airs, but at least the freshness Huyen gives the audience is already in this movie.
- What are the challenges and what makes Huyen interested in this role?
Actually, there hasn't been any big challenge yet because the crew has only been filming for a month and only did the exchange scenes. But I know Duong is a very difficult character. When watching part 1, the audience will see that this is a bright but somewhat one-dimensional character, but in part 2 there will be a change, a very torn struggle.
I haven't shown those segments yet, but if I can overcome them, Huyen will reach another level. For now, I can only try to perform well in hopes that my dedication and efforts will be rewarded. Right now, I can't say anything well or predict anything.
- Both Huyen and Quynh Kool are the main actors in many hot projects, playing in the same group but this is the first time they act together in a movie. How was the combination of the two of you this first time?
It is true that this is the first time we act together and play the role of best friends. However, we are very compatible. In real life, Quynh and I have played and understood each other very well, so when we are in the movie, we do not need to communicate and talk to each other too much, just need to look at gestures or eyes to know how to act. That is also an advantage that helps us portray the characters more smoothly.
- Recently, there are rumors online that you and Quan AP have a relationship above friends. What does Huyen say about this information?
