USD price continues to decline

Today (November 7), the USD/VND exchange rate, the black market USD price, and the VCB USD continued to drop sharply by 20 VND in both buying and selling. The world USD showed signs of a slight recovery.

The central VND/USD exchange rate announced by the State Bank today is adjusted to 24,064 VND/USD, down 20 VND compared to the same time yesterday.

Currently, the permitted exchange rate of commercial banks fluctuates from 23,400 - 25,217 VND/USD. The US Dollar exchange rate has also been brought to the buying and selling range of 23,400 to 25,217 VND/USD by the State Bank of Vietnam.

The USD exchange rate at banks and domestic foreign exchange rates this morning recorded a series of downward adjustments at banks. Specifically, Vietcombank has a buying price of 24,130 and a selling price of 24,500, down 190 VND compared to the closing price of yesterday's trading session. The current USD buying and selling prices are in the range of 23,400 - 25,300 VND/USD.

Japanese Yen and VCB Yen exchange rates continue to fall sharply

Japanese Yen exchange rate surveyed on the morning of November 7, at specific banks as follows:

At Vietcombank, the buying rate is 158.22 VND/JPY and the selling rate is 167.49 VND/JPY, down 0.21 VND in both buying and selling. At Vietinbank, the Yen rate decreased by 1.53 VND in both buying and selling, equivalent to 158.50 VND/JPY and 168.20 VND/JPY. At BIDV, the buying rate decreased by 0.68 VND and the selling rate decreased by 0.67 VND, reaching 159.56 VND/JPY and 167.84 VND/JPY, respectively. At Agribank, the buying rate and selling rate were 160.41 VND/JPY and 165.27 VND/JPY, down 0.14 VND in buying and down 0.12 VND in selling, respectively.

At Eximbank, the buying rate decreased by 0.46 VND and the selling rate decreased by 0.38 VND, respectively, to 160.15 VND/JPY and 164.81 VND/JPY. At Techcombank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate decreased by 0.83 VND and the selling rate decreased by 0.88 VND, respectively, to 156.46 VND/JPY and 168.80 VND/JPY. At Sacombank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate decreased by 0.57 VND and the selling rate, respectively, to 160.04 VND/JPY and 166.66 VND/JPY.

According to the survey, today, Agribank is the bank with the highest buying rate of Japanese Yen and Eximbank is the bank with the lowest selling rate among the banks.

Gold prices continue to plummet

At the time of survey at 5:00 a.m. on November 7, the gold price on the trading floors of some companies was as follows:

DOJI listed the price of 9999 gold at 68.50 million VND/tael for buying and 70.00 million VND/tael for selling.

At Mi Hong Gold and Gemstone Company, at the time of survey, the listed price of SJC gold was at 68.50 - 69.70 million VND/tael (buy - sell).

SJC gold price at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited is also traded by the enterprise at 68.80 - 69.75 million VND/tael (buy - sell). Meanwhile, at Bao Tin Manh Hai, it is being traded at 68.80 - 70.00 million VND/tael (buy - sell).

The world gold price recorded at 5:00 a.m. today, Vietnam time, was 1,979.115 USD/ounce - down 13.475 USD/ounce compared to yesterday's world gold price. Converted according to the current exchange rate at Vietcombank, the world gold price is about 57.378 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is still 11.122 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

Gasoline and oil prices continue to rise

Gasoline and oil prices on the world market today (November 7) continued to increase from the previous session. Oil prices increased due to concerns about supply cuts.

Data from Oilprice shows that at 8:08 p.m. on November 6 (Vietnam time), Brent crude oil was trading at $85.72 per barrel, up $0.83, or 0.98%, from the previous session. WTI crude oil was at $81.4 per barrel, up $0.89, or 1.11%, from the previous session.

Oil prices rose on concerns about supply cuts, analysts said. Oil prices rose after top oil exporters Saudi Arabia and Russia reaffirmed their commitment to cut supplies until the end of the year, amid concerns about falling demand and slowing global economic growth.

In the domestic market, the prices of gasoline and oil today (November 7) are applied according to the price of the afternoon session on November 1. Accordingly, gasoline prices are adjusted up, while oil prices are reduced. Specifically, the price of RON 95 gasoline increased to VND23,920/liter, the price of E5 gasoline increased to VND22,610/liter.

In the opposite direction, diesel price decreased to 21,940 VND/liter while kerosene retail price decreased to 22,300 VND/liter.
